I'm in the market for a new PMP, and the touch 3g seems pretty good for the price (used). Would getting one be a bad decision?

You're better getting the 4, the retina display is something you won't want to miss

agreed. i went from an ipod 3rd gen with 640 X 480 to a iphone 4 at 960 x 640. ipod touch 3rd gen 's screen looked like crap after that.
