The tech demo is amazing, I wasted a few good hours with it.
Is this just on PC? I'd definitely get it if it releases on PS4.

PS4 and Xbox1 releases are a stretch mark, IIRC
Still pretty quiet about SteamOS support; Project CARS were pretty upfront about it..
I'd love to find a bit of updates/screenshots of more cars than the not-a-firebird and not-a-Morris-or-Fiat-or-whatever that's in the beta.

I remember someone saying that, and I don't have it yet so I can't confirm.

Well, yeah. Only ones in it right now, but the release is set for early spring, so a bit of info on what to expect would be neat.
I love the prealpha they got on steam right now, its a racing game thats hard with realistic collisions, those 24 player races are intense, going around the first corner in them is like trying to put 5 square pegs in one round hole.

Is it online?
Not yet but I believe they'll be adding MP in the future.
early access > kickstarter
Only for games, of course. Having an actual thing to play with is better than watching videos and deciding "yeah, i'll back that". Plus, it pleases human's natural instant gratification need.
They deserve every bit of money they get
This game seems cool, but their title probably could have been better. "The Next Car Game." It's like seeing a headline for "The Next FPS Game," or something, like they're intentionally trying to be sarcastic about how it will be the same as everything before it even though that's not the case.

This is the future for racing games."

I thought it was like "So what're you guys working on?" and they were like, "Oh, just our next car game, I guess." and they never bothered to find a proper title.
^ it's exactly what that guy said.
I thought it was since they lost their right to use "Flatout" and just decided to name it whatever.
I don't care about the title of the game; if its got good game play (And it does have excellent game play) I couldn't care less.

Oh god, those bundle-prices!
Edit See, this is why you don't post under the influence of tiredness, live and learn people.
Now that I'm less of a thread-jumping idiot and can be more topical, is there any system requirements for this game up yet? It's caught my eye a few times, but that's what's kept me buying.
...Wrong thread?
Oversleep be disorientating. >:
The title isn't going to be Next Car Game. It's their WIP name for all their racing games.
Finding a decent name for a racing that isn't just ULTIMATE CRASH BOOM CAR DRIVE isn't easy, people in their forums have been trying to think of a name for months.
It will always be Flatout 4 in my heart
Their tech demo reminds me of BeamNG Drive, except actually going somewhere.
Their tech demo reminds me of BeamNG Drive, except actually going somewhere.
True. Just even the graphics alone far outshine BeamNG, and the collision damage is just as good or even better.
Is this just on PC? I'd definitely get it if it releases on PS4.
I rather have them keep it as PC Exclusive. The PS4 and the XBone will force a graphical downgrade to this game if they were to port over.

???
So by releasing it on other platforms they have to reduce the quality of the PC version (oh yeah chaps we're releasing this on consoles so we must turn down the post processing on the PC version. What, how does that make sense)? How well the graphics can be on a console is completely independent to how well the graphics can be on a computer. And let's not forget that the PS4 and XB1 are actually pretty powerful and more than likely outperform the average gaming computer today.
Still pretty quiet about SteamOS support; Project CARS were pretty upfront about it..
If it has Linux support, it'll support SteamOS.
SteamOS = reskinned and slightly modified Ubuntu derivative.

The problem with current multiplatform games are that they're developed for consoles, and THEN ported to pc's as a half-assed afterthought.
As long as PC isn't neglected in the kind of fashion that's been popular with current multiplatform games, then it'll be fine in that regard.

No, it's based on debian. And I never claimed that it wouldn't work on Linux, Project CARS just lists "SteamOS" rather than Linux.
I'm sure their priority is actually getting their game completed first rather than support for an OS that isn't even out of beta.
It should still work outside SteamOS.
