I've got a slight issue. Awhile back I started getting into playing World Of Warcraft once in a while, but then when I had to reinstall it. It said I had to uninstall it first..so I tried. It said "Failed to uninstall W.O.W". So then I clicked OK, and I went and checked the folder.. The folder it self is accessible but the files in the folder cannot be modified or deleted. Dried deleting the folder and windows say I do not have the permission to do this action. Yet, I own the folder, I have UAC off, and I'm an administrator. Even though it's on one of my other drives, I cannot format this drive because I have other large things on it such as steam. How do I delete this folder?
FileShredder. Not 100% sure that will help. But it's worth a shot.

Are you sure you're set up properly as the owner of that folder?
Are you sure you're set up properly as the owner of that folder?
I just tried using the command prompt takeown command and it gives me the same error. I tried changing the security setting in the folder properties. Same error "Access Denied".
Take Ownership of it. [editline]19th February 2011[/editline] via icacls
Virus scan? I've had a virus taking over command of my PC. Denying 90% of my access to anything.
Perhaps your PC is punishing you for your avatar?
Heres what you do, go to system32/services there is usually a thing called "trusted installer" properties on that, go to "edit" and you can change the trust amounts of different users. After that, delete "trustedinstaller.exe", its fuckin shit.
You can try Unlocker: http://www.filehippo.com/download_unlocker/ That helped me get rid of a folder I couldn't access once. Haven't had any problems with it exactly.

Are you the administrator? if not get the admin to set you as the administrator, I'm not sure if this helps.
None of this stuff helped, so I just moved steam to one of my other drives. And wiped this one out.
And you took ownership? Right click on the folder you wish to own, go to properties. Go to the tab "Security" and click on the button "Advanced". Find and select the tab "Owner". Go to "Edit" and select your name or "administrators". check "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects". Click on ok. Back at the security page, find your user name and click on it (so it highlights) Make sure you got "Full Control" checked off under Allow. Click on okay, if it asks you to make changes to all subcontainers and objects, select YES. If you have UAC enabled, you may need to run this in an elevated command prompt. To do this: Go to the start orb, and type in CMD. In the menu, right click on command and select "Run as Administrator" Go to the root of the folder (type: cd \) go to the folder before the file you want to delete. IE: C:\Program Files to delete C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft Type in the delete command for the folder you wish to delete. (type: rd /s /q "World Of Warcraft") Note: World of Warcraft is a placeholder for your filepath. The file path will vary depending on your folder structure. Tell me if you get any more issues. I have 100 more suggestions here lol.

You can alternatively load to a Live Linux, Windows PE (with CMD), or some other OS that can read/write. Find the folder and remove it. Its not like windows has some sort of awesome security system for this.
