I just got Windows 7 today, and it's great. The taskbar however, isn't. In XP and Vista, I would always have it set up so the quick launch icons were on the bottom while the taskbar showing the opened programs/folders/whatever was on top. Also, the quick launch icons are spaced too far apart. Any way I can get it back to my desired setup?
I think this explains what you want, it's a bit tedious but you should be able to get the setup back: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/888-quick-launch-enable-disable.html
Honestly I think you should give it a try before instantly saying no to it. You can arrange the icons however you want them and the taskbar doubles as quick launch.
Do the icons cram closer together the more you put them in the Quick Launch?
They get closer together if you are using all of your taskbar's space and continue to.
