hello, i have a windows 7 computer, when i extract some addons to garry's mod, they will pop up a "confirm folder replace" error, i think this is because those addons contained .vtf and .vmt files that my computer can't view, what program do i install to view and make .vtf and .vmt files readable and usable? another error is when i click on the .vtf or .vmt file and a popup says "windows can't open this file:" i use Winrar to extract addons, and i have 328 GB left in my Internal hard drive, thanks for any help
I think you're installing addons wrong. It's been a while since I've played GMod, though addons are usually contained in a folder with an info document. You just stick that folder into the addons directory, not extracting the files into the various folders in the GMod folder.

If you want to view the vtf files and such you need a program called VTFEdit. You can download it here. http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=178
