Whenever I try to launch steam or a steam game, I get the following error message:
"Steam.exe(main exception): CMultiFieldBlob(pSerialized): Bad field - extends past end of blob."
Does anyone know how to fix this? I really don't want to have to uninstall steam.

Anyone?
Does it happen no matter what game you launch? If it only happens for certain games, you'd be better off asking on the game-specific Steam forums. If you need to reinstall Steam remember there's an fast way to do it: move your steamapps folder somewhere else on your computer, uninstall, reinstall, move your steamapps folder back. That won't solve any game-specific problems though. You'd have to check that out by verifying game files and such.
Notice the Blob?
That means your ClientRegistry.blob is corrupted. Delete that, restart Steam.

Any errors that contain "blob" are usually the ClientRegistry.blob file corrupted.
