If I were to upgrade my current loop(Koolance CPU-360, MCP655, 240 black ice GTX, EK gtx470 WB nickel plated)
to a 480mm RAD (All yate loon fans by the way) would I be able to add a second GTX 470 in SLI and maintain decent cooling performance?
All because I don't want to maintain two separate loops, and buy a new pump.
I'm pretty sure my pump can handle 3 items like that.
IMO, a 240mm radiator is more than enough, assuming that it is consisted of full copper fins. 480mm is pure overkill. What matters the most in your case is the pump. Is it strong enough to handle the additional loops?

What? do you know anything about watercooling? there's no way a 240 will be enough for two hot GPU's and the CPU, you will definitely need a quad at-least if you dont want to go the two loops way.

Radiator size doesn't mean everything.
Other factors are also strongly depended upon, such as the pump's performance, and the fan efficiency that was used to cool the radiator.

Im sorry but the size of the radiator will affect the temps alot more than the type of fan or the pressure of the pump, you cant run two hot 470's and a CPU on a single 240 rad.

awesome they go at the same time

Thanks for the response, I already knew that I couldn't do one 240 for all that. My question is that can I expect to keep a 930 OCed to 3.5 and stock clocks on the 470's if I get a Black ICE GTX 480mm RAD and put 4-8 Decent fans on it?
I'd really like to avoid twin loops as I would have to mount the second rad on a radbox outside the case and thats pure awful.
I have a question. Would this be sufficient to water cool a Phenom 2 x6 1090t and maybe a 5870? I have a Antec 1200 so it would be stupid not to utilise the case to its full potential.

Aluminum... so no.
So not even just a CPU?
So not even just a CPU?
I would dissipate enough heat, but no good CPU water block is aluminum, so there would be 2 types of metal in the loop. You would run the serious risk of corrosion.
Oooo, Ok. So what would you recommend then for a 1200 and a Phenom 2 x6 1090t and maybe a 5870?

Well, are you opposed to externally mounting the radiator?
And are you willing to mod your case?

That is an externally mounted rad all the way to the left.
I also own a 1200 and have modded it, so I can advise on either choice.

that is damn sexy, you make me look at my PC in shame

That looks fucking horrible. What case is that? That's not an Antec 1200.

Yea, I would prefer to have it internal. I am willing to mod my case to a certain extent.

Possibly a Lian Li looking at the HDD mounts.
Actually no looking closer it isn't high enough quality.
That was just an example of an externally mounted RAD.

For CPU only, you can even get a Thermaltake Bigwater 735 kit for it. Only ~$85

Don't, Watercooling is the same as getting a PC. If you want quality DIY.

Unlike getting a PC, customized watercooling kits usually costs much more than kits. I was only suggesting it in case he is short on budget.
If your just going to cool the CPU on the cheap then just get a Corsair H50 and a couple Gentle Typhoon fans.

Definitely.
Anyone know if a really good 480 rad with 8 fans in push pull can dissipate the heat from 2 GTX 470s (Stock clocks) and an i7 930 at 3.5?

That looks pleasing. I am still unsure if I should water cool my GPU?
Anyone have any idea if I could possibly get watercooling for two 4890s with ~$160?

That's impossible for a full system for that budget as each waterblock will cost around $100
