Hey guys,
My headset cable has been bugging me for months and now it's got even worse.
The headset I'm on about is a Steelseries Siberia V2.
The wires looks like this:
When my headset is on the desk:

When the headset is on my head and i'm not leaning back:

When I go out for the weekend or something, I usually hang my headset and let them unwind but shortly after putting them back on they will wind up again... They're plugged into my keyboard and i'm not using the extension cable which comes with it...
How can I solve this problem? I don't particularly want to buy a new headset, unless anyone can recommend a just as good wireless headset for a reasonable price?
Be careful not to twist them when you pick them up or put them down. The same thing happens when people pick up the telephone with their left hand, pass it to their right to talk and then put it down with their right. Every time they are adding a single turn to the cable.
Slightly old thread but I work with many... many audio cables in my profession and cable care is something that really annoys me when people get it wrong :v: - If you wrap them around your elbow you are banned from touching my audio gear ;)
Here's how to coil a cable correctly, the "Over-Under technique":

This technique can be applied to cables of any length, done correctly the cable WILL NOT get tangled when uncoiled.
If you can straighten the cable out, leaving it out in the sun can settle and "reset" the cable, helping to remove any kinks.
