• Logitech X-540 5.1 Speakers Sound Problem.

So I reinstalled Windows 7 awhile ago, and have been using headphones ever since, I decided to swap over to my speakers for a bit to discover a weird problem that I never had before the reinstall. The speakers will only play sound through the left speaker. I tested them and it each ringing noise cycles through all my speakers without a problem, but for things like videos, or playing a game, audio will only go through the left speaker. I looked for drivers figuring they could be out dated but had no success. I did some googling and it's all I get is the same "set up your speakers in the control panel" and they are set up to be 5.1 surround sound. Any ideas?
It's best to uninstall any custom sound control panels that sometimes come with the sound drivers, using the built in windows control panel is the most reliable
Have you enabled the matrix mode? I shoved these speakers to my brother because I got sick listening to them and he wasn't getting 5.1 sound out of them because matrix was active while he didn't even NEED it. Or the circuitry of the amp board may have died on you.
Turns out I had my bass boost turned all the way down. I launched a game and put my hear to each speaker with it turned all the way up and each speaker was producing sound, although very little. That's probably why I've stuck with headphones for so long. Thanks though, I probably wouldn't have looked more carefully at the dials if you hadn't mentioned matrix mode.
