how about better zombie ai and less glitching
how about better zombie ai and less glitching
if you look back at the mod i think they are somewhat better. they may be glitchy but they function. also along with this new bone structure the zombie ai is just around the corner
What I want from DayZ zombies is to not slide through the walls like they still seem to do.
how about better zombie ai and less glitching
Art leads need something to work on too, I doubt much coding needs to go into this since players can already customize their clothing they'll probably just rip that over.
Yea the killer for me with the zombies is that they still glitch through the floor and walls even though pathfinding is there, and last I was on they were glitchy as fuck and would hit you from yards away or not be in the place they appeared. On top of broken as fuck melee it made it nigh impossible to kill them as a freshie. Honestly the game would be better if they just dumped the zombies and made it PvP, because the only threat and interesting interaction is through players.

The reason it happens is due to their not so good AI, the pathfinding is there and the navigation meshes are great - they just need the new AI in. (Q1 2015, so just around the corner as i mentioned above) I think the game without zombies would just be a more indepth version of Arma wasteland, and just a deathmatch. There's no atmosphere to it.
That picture doesn't even look like a zombie, just looks like some grumpy dude in his underwear annoyed about kids playing on his lawn.
Hey DayZ devs, maybe hold off zombie fashion updates and work on fixing the fucking zombies walking through walls, a frequent and major bug that has plagued the game for like two years now.

When will you people realize this? Yes, the DayZ zombies suck ass and should be fixed, but it's not like the art team and PR guys are in any position to fix that.
I think its more that we see all these updates that dont really add much to the gameplay, but we never see anything about zombies and their AI.
Too little too late

Amazing idea.
Yeah let's put character designers on fixing netcode. Amazing idea.
considering the state zombies are in, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case atm [editline]2nd February 2015[/editline] gotta say tho, dayz modellers are insanely skilled and produce actual good content. The programming department on another hand, are they just bad, or is it simply the foundation of the entire game - the engine? If I recall correctly, they did hire an entire goddamn studio to do the AI related stuff. Where are the results? it's a legitimate concern to whine about that every time there's some great news from dayz
