I just bought XP Media Center for a pc I just finished working on. I installed it and activated the CD code. Then when I go to update it says not a legit version! Like wtf?
I just installed it and it says its not legal, but when I bought it. It was still factory sealed...

Call Microsoft technical support, they should be able to tell you why it's invalid
I did, they said it has been activated once. I just activated it. But the GENUINE tool says it fails. I already bitched at microsoft. I even tried a new key. Same thing happened. They said they cant do shit about it because they havn't had this error before.
Im thinking of getting ubuntu instead, but i wasted 120 bucks on this. And if it has been wasted, ima be really pissed off. >:(

Tell the store the product is defective and get an exchange.

Yea, I have tried that last year when I bought some $400 controller that failed...And I tried sueing them, lost it, and a war started between us. Then it ended..I really dont want to deal with that shit again. :\
