Help me prove an argument.
Friend is saying I'm an idiot for liking CSGO because apparently the gun effects aren't as good as Call of Duty and it's "too complicated".
My friend is also saying that Call of Duty requires skill and that it isn't a casual game.
What's the general consensus?
CS:GO for team orientated gameplay
CoD for arcade casual experience
Both are good in their own ways.
Depends on the Call of Duty, really. I haven't played any CoD before 4, but I'm pretty sure their multiplayer had a different pace than 4 onwards.
Apple's and oranges. You're friend is an idiot.
COD is fun without all the really bullshit stuff like killstreaks, mines, helicopter that shoots down at you, etc
I personally prefer CS:GO, but GO is a pretty big step down from 1.6 or source in terms of fun.
I mean, other than being shooters, you really can't compare the two.

I think there's a bit more of a learning curve to CS:GO's weaponry, whereas COD's guns are all pretty easy to use. Sure the effects are better, but that's what you get when you have a huge budget and get to change everything up year after year.
both are good for different reasons
fighting over which is "better" is useless
All though in my personal experience CoD is better as a game and I suppose CSGO is better as a competitive skill platform.
Say what you want I'd rather be blasting my way through a map having stupid fun than having bullets not go where I aim and then spend 2-3 minutes every round dead & waiting.

it's kind of like dota 2. People both love it or hate it for the same reasons. 50min match time.

Sounds to me that your friend is the idiot here.
What kind of baby gets upset over people liking other shooters?
One is Сука Блет, other is I banged your mom. So take CSGO, it can even pay itself off with drops
Call of Duty is pretty easy to pick up and get used to play it. Counter-Strike isn't, or well, at the least it wasn't for me. In CS there's a lot of stuff like guns that you aren't meant to buy in some moments, guns that are situational, you gotta get used to handle the insane recoil in some guns and a lot of shit like being killed way too easily from across the map, how to use grenades.
In CoD you can quickly join a match and do average if you understand the basics of the game, there's still competitive stuff to do too but nothing that makes you feel forced to play it or anything you miss by not playing it competitively.
They're pretty different. I had more fun playing CoD than CS:GO, but that's mostly because I could never get used to CS:GO. That's just my opinion, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people here that had a super-easy time with CS overall and probably like to play it more.
They're both bad because neither of them is Bad Rats.
cs:go is the shitstain of the gaming community. the only thing worse is league and dota.

ahahahahahaha
CS:GO requires teamwork, communication, and a lot more strategy. This includes predicting enemy movement, buying certain equipment or not, understanding game mechanics, and more.
CoD is more of a CQB arcade style game. Little to no teamwork is used, not much strategy is used, sometimes the game seems euqipment based rather than raw skill, and the mechanics are more different.
Really, it's up to personal preference. If you enjoy working together and like tense moments, CS:GO is the way to go. If you like near non-stop action with wild gun fights and to play with less pressure, CoD is better.
CS:GO requires you to have consistently played CS since the days of 1.6. Failing that, you'll probably see yourself begging on your knees for a cover mechanic.
COD is for casuals, who like auto aim and loadouts. It's fast paced while CSGO is more laid back and meant for team play.
call of duty is like chaos no rhyme or reason to anything in a match TERRIBLE
Tell your friend if Call of Duty required skill, then why did Faze and Optic move to CS:GO? Even Faze members said that CS:GO is so much better.
I don't know what I was going to achieve with this. He's still denying it.
This is also the guy who thinks that Skyrim is the best game ever made... and he plays it on console.

That guy sounds like he's a real sucker for what marketing tells him.

G-Game of the Year is a real, non-biased self-given title I swear!

I wonder if I can sell him a game for 100 bucks + 120 for a season pass.
CSGO for strategy and tactical shooter
Call of Duty for rooty tooty point and shooty watching numbers and explosions and instant gratification.
They both great.
cod has died after world at war, cs go doesn't have a single player campaign.

It's getting there tbh.
Both games have their pros and cons, but honestly neither of them are better than the other, guess it would really depend on your mood at the time.
Look at what website your on. This is going to be the most biased poll in history.

There is a bit of a Call of Duty community on here too, plus people who may be casual gamers who play on console with IRL friends who also happen to play CoD.
One game vs. whole series?
Why not, CS series vs Cod series as Counter-Strike does have the whole old CS ver, source and what not. Are they forgotten?
