• Incredibly Specialized Game Request

I'm sick with an ear infection. I have been for a while, and I likely will be for a while longer. My main source of entertainment is a fairly new MacBook using a mediumish wifi signal. That means I'm looking for a game that is appropriate for a sick person under the conditions, and fits my tastes, so the rules are as follows: -Probably nothing with real-time multiplayer, since I can't pause that if I feel ill, and my connection isn't particularly fast. -Obviously no terrible Evony/Farmville/whatever Facebook-style games that limit how much fun you can have per day -I'm looking for something with long-term appeal, maybe even a metagame; a game I can gain experience or levels or unlockables or whatever in and still use them tomorrow would be awesome. -I'm usually lying down withy my computer on my lap, using the trackpad and keyboard; I'm good at it, but this still makes the appeal of shooters (or other mouse-based games that require precision and fast reflexes) very limited. -Since I'm on a wireless connection, it's got to be either browser-based or a small download. Keep in mind I'm on a Mac. -I'd prefer if it was free or at least has a robust demo, since I'm fairly short on cash at the moment. If anybody finds a game that fits these parameters and keeps me occupied, I might just be able to think of a cool reward, or at least an entertaining one.
Plants VS Zombies?
Plants VS Zombies?
Already have it for Xbox, great suggestion though. Also, I forgot to mention it, but I'd prefer the game be free or at least have a good demo.
maybe Sid Meier's Civilization or Pirates? [editline]5th May 2011[/editline]
Already have it for Xbox, great suggestion though.
maybe Sid Meier's Civilization or Pirates?
Played it, played it. Also, I'm looking for smaller, easily downloadable or browser playable games, since torrenting one of these over wifi on a MacBook is going to take a while.
If you can find a game on steam around the 5 dollarish range, I can gift it to you.

Both seem casual enough for me to handle with a trackpad, anybody have comments on either of them?
I have foreign legion. Got bored of it within minutes.
I have foreign legion. Got bored of it within minutes.
Yeah, I kinda suspected what with the 10-minute campaign. I'm taking a look at some others.
How short on cash? Because Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is one of my favorite games. It's 10 bucks on steam, probably cheaper if you can find a physical copy, and it's a great game. Turn based rpg. From 2004? Do you should be able to run it.
Diablo 1/2 would probably be great for you.

...Minecraft? for the short on cash part: ...alpha?
...Minecraft? for the short on cash part: ...alpha?
Have it, love it, numerous glitches on this laptop for some reason.
Dwarf fortress? I haven't tried it, but from what I can tell, most people either love it or hate it. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] And get well soon by the way.

Oh yeah, Ivan is really fun actually, played it, fun but I suck and don't get very far. It's kinda complicated though and I don't know if you want to bother, but it's still pretty cool. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] IVAN
Oh crap, just realized my profile link is broken, I'll fix it. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] Okay, for some reason my profile link is still broken, but I PM'd you a link that seems to work.
