That is fucking nuts. 10 million on PC and the 360 version is getting close to that mark.
LOADSA MONEY!
oh fuck off. 100 million autistic 10 year olds bought it to play with their le bro PeWdIePiE XD

Here we go, let's get the angry testimonies about how Minecraft sucks and always has sucked every single second since its inception from people who got bored of the game after putting hundreds of hours into it or got frustrated at the terrible updates and wasted potential, after putting hundreds of hours into it.
Please, tell us all how special you are for not liking this popular game.
Minecraft is a good game, but like all games, it get boring after awhile.

A game is popular get over it. Also, Why are you using autistic as a insult? Get off your high horse
Minecraft is actually a pretty fun game with mods and on the right vanilla server.
minecraft in itself is a fun game, it's just that the community is so god damn awful. but can't really blame it though, considering most of the playerbase are <14.

Why is a comment like this in every minecraft thread? I mean its FP and these comments are to be expected but still.
It's an insanely popular game for good reason really.

I question Mojang's ethics by this point.
If it wasn't for Minecraft's millions of autistic children and adults constantly patching, modding and optimizing the game (OCD is awful once you're into something) it would of died years ago simply from going completely stale. Once Mojang realized exactly who they were catering to you couldn't make them actively work on the game anymore. They could piss off wherever and their half-built product would print money 24/7 while the community worked day in and out to fine tune the game.

You do realize Notch did not think it would get insanely popular right?

Can everyone stop with this autistic kid crap. I'm a carer for kids with disabilities and it's frustrating to constantly see how their autism is used as an insult.
Anyway congrats on Mojang with the sales.

I bought it for a simple game to throw on and relax while playing.
Personally Minecraft started off simple but ambitious, but eventually they kept piling and piling up the content, some of which was invented by random modders (such as Horses and Pigmen), but to the extent that they're changing/nerfing other things like what food animals needs to breed just to make them less overpowered. (examples being grain to chickens now needs seeds instead). complicating things moreso with dynamic things with fantasy elements like potion brewing and enchanting/experience.
If you drop out of the loop for a long time, chances are the game has changed vastly from what you're used to, but the rate of content combined with the modding community means that vanilla is plain whilst you can be entertained by public servers...possibly more than the base game.
I mean really, it sorta hit its apex just before the Ender update, but then afterwards felt like some sort of massive quest, layered with hoops to jump through just to get there.
• Build Base.
• Get food supply.
• Mine
• Craft
• Mine better stuff.
• Buckets+Water+Lava = Obsidian.
• Nether Portal
• Go sideways and invent potions for fire immunity
• Somehow kill Blazes for rods, just to jam into Ender Pearls to make eyes.
• Wander about, or use seed to find ender temple.
• You're in the end...
• Wither? NPC Village emerald trading? lots of stuff like the biomes..
I liked minecraft when it was more simpler and mods were more prominent, rather than the monumental things the devs do, felt overpowered, if cool to chop down whole trees just by cutting the bottom block, or spambreed chickens with easy growing wheat.
I don't get where this unused potential thing comes from. At least for the first few years, all I ever saw from Notch was vague speculation about what he wanted the game to be like. Everyone was happy even its most basic form because they are just continuing on from the Infiniminer hype.

Minecraft turned to shit when they decided to turn it into an adventure game rather than a sandbox game.

Where exactly are you getting all that from?
Minecraft turned to shit when they decided to turn it into an adventure game rather than a sandbox game.
It never stopped being a sandbox game? Sandboxes can have story and direction, you don't actually have to go through with it after all.

I'm basing off all the times I hear about kids with varying levels of autism who are nothing short of geniuses at assorted programming languages, including Java. They're on the radio, they're on TV and their in the brochures I get for assistive learning schools.
Gmod has the same community but it isn't as strongly influenced as it is in Minecraft. The player might not even be through puberty but if he has a problem with the game he'll work out a way to fix it and chances are his fix will be the only real fix because officially development on Minecraft stopped in 2012.

I'm not sure what PDP has to do with anything, he uploaded a few minecraft videos years ago and hasn't touched it since? :v:

So why is it a problem if the modders have autism

Ooooor, I bought it in alpha because I thought it looked cool and my friend recommended it to me.
Does PDP even play Minecraft?
Where's the "Sad" rating.
I remember when I moderated a minecraft server.
Removing 10 swastikas an hour was fun

Fuck off. Oh look, your most recently played games are Synergy, Garry's Mod, and Portal 2: all of which have physics and therefore allow you to stack things.
I GUESS YOU MUST BE AUTISTIC RIGHT LOLOLOLOL NECKBEARD SLOB.
It's fucking offensive and annoying, especially when you actually know autistic people. And here's a funfact: none of them like Minecraft.

indev was the shit why did notch get rid of the floating islands world
Funny how so many "hate" Minecraft nowadays simply beause they got tired of playing it.
It's a captivating and good game, there's no reason to dislike it so strongly.
