• Looking for a gaming laptop

Ok, I'm looking to buy a new computer and I'm leaning towards a laptop. I'll be using it mainly for gaming and web browsing. Battery life isn't really a big deal to me considering i'll most likely be near a power outlet at all times. Budget isn't really a big deal but i'm looking to spend around $1300. This is what i'm looking at currently: http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Configurators.aspx?mid=328 It seems to have just about everything I want, but i've heard that ibuypower is overpriced. After looking around on newegg at some other laptops I think this is a pretty good deal. As far as criteria for other recommendations here's what i'm looking for: Good graphics card 4GB RAM At least 250GB HDD Screen size atleast 15" Clean looking case Thanks for the help.
Umm... wrong section, unless they've changed the purpose of PC building. Anyhow.... To actually help a teeny tiny little bit, I've heard Asus laptops are pretty good. Make sure you don't put the lappy somewhere it will overheat easily.

Also, there are some really nice laptops out there, if you look really hard. I'll go look for some.
I mean, I was under the impression this forum was for BUILDING 'em... or maybe that's just because people would flame and yell at people who wanted prebuilts.... On second thought, though, laptops are hard to put together, so I guess I'll look for something on Newegg maybe...
What do you guys think of ibuypower? I've already looked on newegg and I don't think you're going to find one with a better graphics card for that price.
iBuypower sucks.
iBuypower sucks.
What's a better laptop for the price then?
What's a better laptop for the price then?
It sucks because he says so and he's a mod. If you want to get it and you really have no other choice, do it.
iBuypower sucks.
It really does. http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668292.php Here's a gateway laptop. Might not be exactly what you are looking for, but let me look some more.
It sucks because he says so and he's a mod.
Because of my position and the fact that I say it doesn't make them true. iBuyPower just sucks. It's a well known fact around here.

for gaming laptops that arent $2000+ go to ibuypower. the only thing is you'll have a corny ibuypower logo on it
I don't know if this is a good deal or not, but I stumbled upon this while preordering CoD:MW2 online http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75687
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220576 better but I don't recommend it get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220566
That's got a GTS 240M... which is what, a rebranded 9600? Why the fuck did I get a dumb for asking a legitimate question? :saddowns:
Still, good for a laptop. mines got a goddamned 8400M GS.
That's got a GTS 240M... which is what, a rebranded 9600?
220 is, 240 is the 9800GTS/GS depending how you want the card to act
I love the gateway P series.. My 6860-FX is pretty good. runs Red Faction Guerrilla @ 50-60 FPS with most settings on reasonably high

I just need a gaming laptop so I don't have to haul around my beast of a desktop.
dell XPS 16 come with Core i7's soo http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/23/quad-core-core-i7-720qm-slips-into-dell-studio-15-17-and-studi/
But I imagine the battery life on that is appalling.
