Ok first off this may be in the wrong section. Sorry if it is.
I am looking for laptop that plays Minecraft and runs Skype, this is nothing to do what with I have previously posted (7950, i5 ETC). This needs not to run Photoshop at speed (Just normally for occasional events) but this does need to run Minecraft at around top settings. Preferably at least runs Tekkit or Feed The Beast (Basically mod packs) at Normal+ settings
I actually want two of these laptops as they are for my sisters thus the need for cheapness. They both love Minecraft and seeing as I have a MacBook with 16GB of RAM it could be handy for journeys in the car where we can play small games on a LAN network created on my MacBook. It would be nice to have 4+hours battery life but this is mostly optional.
In terms of Hard Drive space I can not see the need for more than 500GB, in fact 500GB seems to be good. The RAM would be nice to have 8GB but 4GB is fine as later it can be upgraded. Please include a Network Card as well as a keyboard that well... Works.
You can see that I have low standards as Price is an issue, refurbished is fine with 1+ year warranty.
The price range is £300 to £550 and I live in the UK. Thanks in advance!

this should be more than enough

Minecraft is incredibly stupidly resource requiring. But yeah this is fine.

May I ask why?
This game is amongst the most popular recreated games due to the fact it is so simple to recreate and the Rasperry Pi and mobile phone devices can run an accurate recreation.
And that laptop looks great! I am sure it would be ok if over the next few days I post a few other laptops that some friends have recommended to me but this looks good!
its just not optimized well, it uses a lot of RAM I think

not optimized on the PC that is
It can run on a pi, but most definetly cannot run on a low end dual core (probaly because of the gfx card tho)

Yok, this PC will run it nicer then? It's kinda a case of why get if it might lag. It's not asking for much but will this PC run Minecraft on high? Normal is fine but what FPS can I expect at Normal and High settings?
You can play the vanilla game just fine with no worries with that thing. Do not expect high-res texture packs / shader stuff though
The Pi version is no where near the same as the PC version. It has a lot less features and is probably largely written from the ground up, not by Notch.

Notch actually says he's not a good programmer.
But he came up with a good idea and made it so we could play it. Respect.
[sp]It's just a bit sad what he's going through now =([/sp]

What is he going through?
And in Minecrafts source code I agree!
Good luck trying to play MC on battery. Might need it to be plugged in just to run Minecraft at a playable framerate and run for more than half an hour.
Anything with a 6650m would do, so I'd look at the Thinkpad Edge series or ideapads.

I can't find the article, but among one of the things is his marriage went down the shutter
And his dad killed himself.

You can just force it to use full power even on battery...
Also, my MacBook never limits when it needs full power... so I can play without battery and it won't matter shit. ^^
It's a windows power management limitation

No, Minecraft uses extremely much CPU, you at least need a intel core i3 CPU to run the game properly.

As for playing MC on battery power, my Dell Inspiron 1545 used to play Minecraft fine even when I had Windows power management set to power saver. In fact this thing performed better than my brother's Inspiron 15R which has a quad core CPU :S. Sadly these times changed now... My laptop plays the game with a rough 10 FPS even on high performance
