Hey, Facepunch. I'm finally getting a computer in a month or so, and am ready to start picking parts for my computer. This will be the first time I've built a computer, but I'm pretty familiar with installing components. Just not so familiar with wiring, but I'm sure that will be a breeze with the motherboard manual and what not. Now, lets get to the point. I'm a corsair whore, so I'm gonna be wanting mainly corsair products. I've picked out a screen already, and its the 120Mhz 3D screen. I will be using nVidia 3D sometime in the future. I've been looking at the 460 - 470 or 5770 - 5850, don't know which brand/card I should get. This will be for gaming, such as Fallout 3, TF2, CS:S, GMOD, Mafia 2 [possibly when I buy it.], ect. I do use photoshop so I want a good CPU. I'm in fucking love with the Corsair Obsidian series, so if you can fit that case in there/something similar [possibly from Lian Li?] that has the gromits and black interior and shit, that'd be great. Let's see.. Resolution is going to be 1900x1080. Uh, prefer a DirectX 11 card.. I hope I'm not forgetting anything. Oh, 4GB of RAM as always. I would put this together, but I lost my whole fucking list I spent months on.
Do you need an operating system?
Are you in the US or CA? Do you need an OS?
US Yes.
Working on it.
Thanks. :downs:
Hmm... I've neen trying to make something, but the fact that you need a Corsair case just for the ugly grommets isn't helping with your budget. The cheapest Corsair case is $160. [editline]10:28PM[/editline] Okay, personally I think you should get a cheaper case, but it's up to you. The grand total at the bottom is NOT including the $50 in mail-in rebates. That gpu will not perform well enough for good 3d vision graphics (120 fps)
[QUOTE=luck_or_loss;24881566]That gpu will not perform well enough for good 3d vision graphics (120 fps)[/QUOTE] Oh such stupidity. You don't need 120 fps to play in 3D. Your monitor needs to have a refresh rate of 120 Hz to play in 3d because the glasses are shutter glasses that shut 60 times a second for each eye
I think what he's trying to say is that a GTX 460 is not enough to run games in 3D smoothly.

[editline]07:58PM[/editline] He has picked one out I mean.
I still think he should get a HAF 912 and GTX 470.
[QUOTE=ghostofme;24883608]Either way he is wrong. [editline]07:58PM[/editline] He has a 120 Hz monitor. Read OP. Oh my god the 600T is out  I'm sorry, I think the 600T is beautiful. Most Corsair cases are pretty damn sexy. Well, theres only three..
Well if you're willing to sacrifice performance for a pretty case then okay.

[editline]07:58PM[/editline] He has picked one out I mean.[/QUOTE] The 460 can't play games on max with 3D smoothly, and 3D isn't worth it if you're playing on medium settings in a game. A 470/480 should handle it though with little issues, or he can sli 2 460's.
I have yet to see any benchmarks of the GTX 460 in 3D. Are people just pulling the claim that the GTX 460 can't handle it out of their ass?
Here you go op its only a little bit over your budget [url]http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=11541794[/url]

[QUOTE=xxncxx;24925994]Do not listen to HappyCats posts its all poptarts.[/QUOTE] Mmmmmm. [editline]12:20AM[/editline] At first I thought you meant it was a crazy, uneducated build plan. But now I see you were very literal.
Yeah he keeps posting it, he thinks he's funny. Although 1,300 Pop Tarts is pretty sweet, not that it would last very long probably.
