Looks like it's absolute king at price: performance, as expected.

I'm undecided as I also want to see how the 1060 measures up in price/performance.
Chances are though that I'll be going for the 480.

Just send youtubers the gpu and let them review it, that's pretty cheap and painless advertising.

Too late.

It's a shame the AUStax made it cost more than it should though, but it's a good upgrade for me. $379 AUD is the best you can get it here at the moment for the 8GB version. All the 4GB ones are gone already. :v:
Quite a bit better than the GTX 970, for $100, give or take depending on vendor, less money. That's pretty awesome
Pleasant Hill microcenter is sold out completely.
How do two of these stack up against a 1080?

I think I saw synthetic benchmarks matching them as equal, but that never translates into real world performance. Crossfire is always a mixed bag.
Could even be confusing that for the 1070 as well. Either way in actual gaming situations they wouldn't compare.
I'm furiously looking at newegg right now for any signs that it's being sold already.
Norway gets destroyed again 343 USD for a 239 USD card. GG 25% VAT, too bad we need this nonsense because of it being a heavy part of our BNP and treasury.
I'm absolutely crying. I pick these beauties up once they go down in price.

Keep in mind that crossfire and sli aren't really things anymore under new APIs. They've been outmoded and can do cool new things like VRAM stacking.

Has this been implemented yet in any game?
Probably not.

yep, absolutely ridiculous, denmark is getting fucking shafted too. 350 dollars MINIMUM and the price only goes up on brands like MSI
at that price you can get a used 980 or 970 for even less

I can't wait for the GTX 1080 Ti to be priced above 950 dollars, looking so forward to it.
In almost every review I saw this card was beat or on par with last years 970. How is anyone considering this? Just wait for the 1060 come out, it'll blow this card away for around the same price.

Why would you even want a 1060 or a 1070? My monitor is 1080, those two clearly aren't going to be good enough.

it doesn't cost as much as a 970
why did you rate this dumb if it's pretty much a fact, lol
Still, the RX 480 is showing almost the same power consumption as the GTX 1070 so far, and only offers about 65% the performance. AMD's still got a lot to nail down in their architecture if they wanna catch up in anything besides price/performance ratio.

This is a good start though, obviously. I might pick it up.

I can find 4GB 970 for $239, and I'd prefer that over an 8GB 480 in its current state.

I'd rather have the one with the better performance.
Looking forward to Q4 this year, GPU galore. Man, it's going to be fun either way.
now I just have to wait for the competitive CPU market to drop down in price before I upgrade
hahaha who am I kidding

Zen sounds promising, but honestly I'd just go with Intel. Until AMD can show they can compete in the CPU market again prices will be what they are, and you might be waiting a while until that changes.
boy i sure do regret getting a 380 two months ago
The performance is likely to improve a bit when more mature drivers release later in the year
Willing to bet its gonna cost 400 euros here in Portugal.

amd supplied 10x the amount of stock of these cards that nvidia did for the 1080 and 1070
and they are still selling out
Wow Germany didn't get completely fucked over in the prices.
245$ for the 4GB version
300$ for the 8GB version
Still quite a bit more expensive, but not as bad as other places in Europe.
