Did they ruin this by making it 3D? Is RCT2 still better?
Of course RCT2 is better, but this one isn't that bad.

I personally feel that it's on par with the original two roller coaster tycoons. You lose the stylization of the previous game though with the transition to 3d, but you get to go into first person mode on the vast majority of the rides and attractions you place ingame.
It's good for seven fifty.
Overly complicated... but you have more control over literally everything.
It just has the accessibility of a rape victim.
edit: Okay, the fanboy patrol is out in force I guess.
I mean, I haven't played the game in a few years but I distinctly remember the UI being a nightmare to navigate and being overwhelmed by everything.

The games play a bit different. it's kinda nice to ride your own coasters in first person
I'm a huge fan of the first 2, never really played this one so hmmmn debating on a purchase
I love this game so much.

too bad i own 2 physical copies of RCT3 and a GOG.com copy as well. But I'll probably pick this up for sheer convenience

Wall-E the ride. I recommend getting proxy addons like Proxtube or YouTube Unblocker. Not sure if they are available for your browser.
Its better than the first two in some ways, and worse in others. In either case it's worth $7.50
I wish they'd update the graphics a bit if they were to do a new release.
The beams on wood coasters / terrain polys even on maxed settings were gnarly.
It's a better game than the previous two, but it's not as charming. About on par, all in all.
I always preferred Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. Slightly.
It's a great entry in the series either way you view it.

RCT3 is a good game in it's own right, but it's pretty different from the first 2 games.
It has it's issues, but it's pretty damn cool to be able to import roller coasters from the first two and be able to ride them.
Bought this one half off during the last winter sale and it was so worth it. If you enjoyed the first two games and you haven't played this one you'll enjoy it.
It's not a true RCT if it's not written in Assembly.
Roller Coaster tycoon 3 is not as good as the original or RCT2. The only part of the game that I enjoyed were the fireworks shows that you could customize yourself and the ride camera.
The controls are clunky and the park AI is a bit screwy.
I don't really see why people thought it was bad. It's virtually the same as RCT2 with the exception of 2 major things:
The Graphics got a HUGE upgrade (arguable ruining the game's established nostalgic art style)
Riding your rides (this is an incredible feature)
On top of that there's more minor upgrades like fireworks, intractable ride scenery, etc.
They didn't 'ruin' it by any standard.
Nobody gets off of Mr. Bones Wild Ride.
Guests can't die which is stupid as fuck.

And well, that guests aren't as stupid in RCT3 as in RCT 1 & 2

Damn, I loved drowning people after they left my park.
thye have very nice ragdoll physics tho :~)

What? So they removed crashing?
What? So they removed crashing?
Nope, guests just bounce around. It looks retarded and imo kills a part of the game. Now crashes have basically no lasting consequences.
