I have been looking at computer parts for about a year now and my budget is kinda unlimited... here are the parts i am looking at.. I was planning on using it on HEAVY gaming and future proofing... And also video editing and programming.. any suggestions, tips, or anything else? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/31FKb
You should get twice that RAM if you intend to do video editing, and you've completely forgotten to chuck in a SSD in a build with no budget, which is silly. Add a 500GB or 1TB Samsung 840 EVO, the performance difference compared to a harddrive is astronomical. I'm not going to comment about what you're getting for the price in this build, but i'm going to say that "future-proofing" is a complete bullshit concept - getting everything that you'd need for 1600-2000 now and then using 1000-1500 in a few years is going to be significantly better than spending it all in one go. If you've got a proper reason for all this power, go straight ahead, but don't do it to future-proof as you'll regret not saving the money when it can actually make a difference
From the monitor you have listed I assume you are going to be gaming with one monitor at 1080P in that case a 780Ti would be a complete waste, a 770 would max out anygame at 1080p excluding cyrsis 3 and a few others and if you want to be able to completely max those games you could get a 780 which is still a little overkill.
Get a cheaper mobo man. That thing is gimicky. MSI Z87 GD65 or something. Also how professional are you with your video editing? If you are actually studying for it or if its your job then an i7 is justified. If you just record a game and upload it now and then just get an i5. The i5-4670K actually beats the i7-4770K in some games and has the same performance in others due to lack of multi core support in games.
Okay, sorry I have been gone for like 2 days. Anyway, I kinda threw most of that information together in a flash. My video editing will include uploading standard video from games, along with making anime music videos (AMV's). I also was planning on getting more than one moniter in the future, but as a 17 year old getting paid 7.35 and with only 2k saved up, I don't really have enough for multiple moniters at the moment. I also have a lot of friends that are heavily into pc gaming.. and come on, admit it. We all like to brag about our rigs. But anyway, do you guys still think I should drop the gpu and the processor down? I had been toying with the idea of it.. but I just wasn't sure and wanted a second opinion. Thanks for your time ^-^
lol "video editing" means something very different than amvs. You're going to spend almost 3k on a gaming computer when you could get the same for about 1k, so unless you're very rich or very into gaming (as in it's basically your life), you should reconsider pretty much everything you're buying, especially the $400 mobo (lmfao) and the $700 3GB card which you will never need unless you use like 3 monitors. Did you even bother to read the reviews for what you want to buy? That motherboard has terrible reviews...

I have been looking seriously. Okay I get video editing means something different. Got it. But video games, anime, and programming pretty much ARE my life. I don't even have a car bro. I never leave my house and you know what? I'm damned proud of it. Now instead of undermining me or insulting my intelligence could you inform me and help me figure out parts that would be useful instead of being an ass? And as for the rich thing. No I am not rich. I simply have a job and have nothing to spend my money on so I have been saving it up to afford something nice for myself. And as I have never owned a computer of my own in my entire life, I want something nice that I will be able to use for a very long time. I am actually the opposite of rich.
You obviously didn't read the reviews on the mobo. Post a thread here, you'll get a lot of help http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc. You can post your pcpartpicker results by using the reddit option on their site. Make sure to put $2500 as the budget in the title, everyone will flood to build their dream rigs for you lol

But we usually ask a few questions first to actually get what the guy needs instead of what he thinks he needs. But i like to have a bit of room to spare. -OS: W 8.1 of course. Dont get 7 because you dotn like the start screen of 8. You cna get around it and 8 is way faster. -CPU Cooler. Ive added a closed loop water cooler for your "bragging rights" Tough I would reccomend the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO air cooler. Cheap and good.

I really appreciate your advice. Okay... but my one problem is that (although it is frowned upon in the gaming society) I do need to be connected to wifi because there isn't any way I can put my computer near where my router is. That was my MAIN reason for picking the motherboard I picked. should I just go with a pci-e wifi card? also, I've seen the 770 try to play crysis 3.. and never got about 40 fps with everything maxxed. that's the kind of machine I am talking about which is why I was looking at the 780/780ti. I don't include the OS because I have an uncle that luckily works at Dell and he ca. burn off os' s for me for free. I like water cooling so I appreciate that. and I will stick with the gt-s black edition for the case. my question is should I go ahead and get a 600 or 750 watt psu in case I decide to do SLI some time in the nearish future? EDIT: here is what it is looking like so far http://pcpartpicker.com/p/33sx4
I recommend this PSU instead. EVGA is best. Fully modular, 10 year warranty, 80+ Gold. Well for high end builds of a $2000+ budget yes, I would recommend posting in both places... When it comes down to it there's pretty much one or two builds that you should be aiming for for each budget, and I'm not knowledgeable enough on a $2000 budget to help with specific parts.

No it means that if you're going to spend upwards of $2000 on a build you should make sure you're as informed as possible.
