Ok, i just bought a pair of Razer Kraken USB's and i'm having a weird audio problem with them. Some things sounds grea,t like when i use Firefox i can head everything great. But when i use Chrome and Skype, the volume output is VERY low. All the volume mixers are all the way up. So i have no idea what is causing it. Can anyone help? tldr: some applications sounds nice and loud, others don't. help
Try changing that 7.1 option in your screenshot to stereo
Nope, nothing. It has got to do something with Synapse. I just don't know how to fix it. Also it sounds fine if i use my external speakers. Just not my new headphones. Try running msconfig.exe (type "msconfig" in your start menu's search box). Navigate to the start up tab and locate "Kraken" or "Kraken Launcher". Disable it and restart your PC. Issue with this is that it sometimes makes the headphones too loud. But it's easy to turn the volume down. Hope this helps. Krakens are a loud phone tho.
Try opening the audio properties for your headset. Right click the speaker icon in your taskbar, select playback devices, find your headset, right click that, and select properties. Go to the "Advanced" tab, check to see if exclusive mode is enabled. Disable it if it is. You might also try enabling loudness equalization (under "Enhancements")

It was a audio setting where it felt like everything got boosted by 100% loudness. But yea, the problem was fixed! Thank you so much for your help~!
