so my birhtdays coming up and i'm getting a new cellphone cause mine busted so i been using my mom's for a while now, and i want a touchscreen that is robust and have some fun apps like iphone.
now the reason i'm not getting a iphone is that i don't find it robust at all, a friend of mine droped it from his pocket while he was sitting and it would't start at all.
but price isn't that important but no fuck expensive blackberry(or blueberry, i seem to forget wich one all the time) but something that is affordable.
but i'm going to sleep (it's 22:30 here in norway now and i have to get up to 6:00) so i check by tomorow.
G1?
Anything that runs Android.

This man has the right idea. The only well developed app stores are Apple's, Blackberry's, and the Android Market (in terms of program numbers).
Plus I think you'll find it to feel more responsive than it's competitors as well.
Anything android, I am so pleased with my G1 that I can't considder changing it.
HTC Hero looks sexy.
Android is good, but G1 seems a little underpowered, and battery doesn't last long. I can't wait to see what the new slew of Android phones coming out in November are gonna be like. Hopefully there will be another one with a full keyboard.
The Pre is supposedly the closest competitor to the iphone. Apparently the build quality isn't as good as the iphone but it has multitasking and is cheaper.

The Palm? The giant $200 oreo cookie?
That thing sucks. You pay for a cheaper phone, and the quality shows.

If i turn off WiFi and GPS and Bluetooth, my battery lasts 2 days. My friends iPhones battery lasts during the day and at about 6pm its on 10% battery
HTC Dream (G1, or Google Phone :-) )
thanks for these but what about that nvidia ap something, that one looked preatty cool so is it coming out anytime soon and is it a phone.

I don't know about any "oreo cookies" but I did mention that the build quality was poor. It's main selling point is it's well designed interface and multitasking ability (which the iphone lacks).
I did the math and if you factor in the 2 year plan (most basic calling with data) and startup costs the iphone costs about $2000 over the 2 years. That doesn't include any unlimited calling and only a couple of apps. I forget how much the total was for the Pre but it was significantly less.
Since starting college, having a more expensive phone seems less important to me...less so than living comfortably. They do seem cool though (and useful).

Tegra? http://www.nvidia.com/page/handheld.html

yeah that one seem pretty cool, but there are two and i don't know wich one's the best.
also roughly how much does they cost.
We expect more NVIDIA Tegra-powered devices to hit the market soon. However, since NVIDIA does not produce and sell the final device, we cannot disclose the names or availability dates of Tegra-based devices until the manufacturers are ready to do so.
seems the only tegra device thats is currently for sale is the Zune HD, and that isnt a phone
On a seemingly related note how does the iphone function on sprint?
Android has potential, but it has yet to really show it.

When you add it together, it looks like a big number. But:
2000/24
$83.33 a month.
If you have a job, 83 a month isn't a big dink in the pocket. Our internet costs more per month.
It's an oreo cookie because of the sliding keypad that very often becomes loose and eventually "twists" off.
As for multitasking, jailbreak the iPhone and get Backgrounder. Unless you do stupid shit like try to run NFS:U and Gangstar at the same time, it won't lag.
Android.
Android.
already been mention.
When is the G1 coming to aus?
just get one off http://becextech.com.au/catalog/index.php
then crack it to jesusfrekes firmware and update, otherwise it has myfaves which wastes all your credit within hours
Already been said, but something with Android. I love my G1.
As everyone else said, Android.
The iPhone still has a better range of third party applications, and Android isn't that much less restrictive.
Handle your device well and it won't bust.
G1?
Listen to this man.

You should try CyanogenMod or JACHero, both are excellent, though I slightly prefer Cyanogen purely for speed.
