There was no religion. Now before the flame war starts let me state my case. Almost every war in history has been about religious belief. I know religion gives hope to lots of people but it also lets them trust in a supernatural being to help them with their lives. People are sitting back and praying to fix problems when a little self motivation is all it takes.
