This isn't new, its' some sort of Space Station esque game where you manage multiple space stations and what not. At least that's what it seemed like from the teaser Dean showed.
What's new is that the game has gotten fully manned now, so its going into full development now which is pretty nice.

I thought it was a space station 13 remake? (or at least heavily inspired)
I thought it was a space station 13 remake? (or at least heavily inspired)
Basically, yeah. Then again the zoom out of over multiple space stations lead me to believe it was basically Space Station + Management sim.
Hopefully this doesn't become another DayZ Standalone

You mean a game stuck in development hell/alpha limbo with updates every half-years?
you think they can ever finish this game? they never finished dayz...
you think they can ever finish this game? they never finished dayz...
Well, they did just finish Out of Ammo, a VR shooter that was in early access for a bit and is not fully properly out.

Out of Ammo is a blocky game...
Out of Ammo is a blocky game...
Yeah, but it's a game. That they had in early access and then finished.

He'll leave after one and three quarters of the A's are finished.
He'll leave after one and three quarters of the A's are finished.
Why would he leave? He was on DayZ temporarily since the start, he was only supposed to put the thing on track for Bohemia. He didn't "abandon" DayZ, he came onto it to do the things he was supposed to do and then moved on.
Yeah no Dean hall go fuck yourself. Couldn't even stay to finish off DayZ.

nah, article implies this is another game on top of that
You mean a game stuck in development hell/alpha limbo with updates every half-years?
I expected this post to be super sarcastic and in defense of the game when I started reading it, so it threw me off when everything so said is exactly what he meant.
You mean a game stuck in development hell/alpha limbo with updates every half-years?
the game's actually being worked on. it's just that the developers don't want to release the large parts of the new engine they're working on until they're fairly polished. it looks a lot like the engine is what's being focused on, right now.
I'd assume update releases are going to speed up after the old engine is dropped entirely.

Clown Rampage on a space station standalone edition.
SS13 remakes are cursed, not single one has been properly finished or ever left development limbo. I doubt Dean Hall will change that.
Unless its a extremely dumbed down version of SS13 then i'd say that it could possibly be turn out as a success. SS13 is like Dwarf Fortress, a game that currently has so many features because it contains years of continues development
SS13 remakes are cursed, not single one has been properly finished or ever left development limbo. I doubt Dean Hall will change that.
The last remake IIRC had made some progress to the point they had a decent amount of things emulated from SS13 like atmospherics, then it just died. Like straight up just died for whatever reason leaving behind some the assets and nobody wants to continue on with it.
Unless Byond dies or something, SS13 remake or even switch to a less shitty platform will never exist.
This man is a joke
He just.. abandoned DayZ. literally took the money and fucked off bohemia office. DayZ isn't even over that he is already making another games.
Damn scammer.

He didn't "abandon" anything, he came to Bohemia to do the things he was supposed to do with DayZ after he had sold it to them (reminder that Bohemia Interactive themselves are developing DayZ) and when he was done with that, he was done with DayZ. The DayZ mod was Dean's thing, DayZ SA was Bohemia's thing since the start.

Right. Imagine you're hired at a company to do a project. Before the project is finished, they move you on to another project. You did not abandon that first project, you were pulled to another by the company.
That's pretty much what happened with Dean Hall. He was hired at BI to work on DayZ for 1 year IIRC.
