would i have to do anything special for my MoBo to allow it or just stick it in?
It may require a BIOS update though
Thanks, sorry for being such a noob at this but how would i go about updating my bios?

anyone?
Go to the MSI website and look for a BIOS update, there are usually 2 ways of doing it, the best way is to load up the latest BIOS revision to a USB stick formatted to FAT32 and load the BIOS update program from the BIOS, the other way is a tool that works inside Windows.
Note that this is the way I've done this with Asus motherboards, but MSI should work about the same.

thank you so much. i will try
But It's unlikely you will need to update the Bios so don't bother if the CPU works.
