I have a question. which laptop companies/websites are king? Where is the best place to get a laptop for gaming? What companies do you prefer and why?
Asus because the build quality is good and the prices are also good.
i heard asus has a ton of bloatware
i heard asus has a ton of bloatware
My brother's UL50 (Kinda old at this point) didn't have a lot of bloatware, though if you're getting a good price for it spending ten to twenty minutes uninstalling stuff is nothing.
Depends really, but stay away from laptops specifically labeled as "Gaming Laptops", you'll get screwed over by the price and most of them are pretty terrible build quality. Examples like alienware, cyberpower, ibuypower, I've heard Falcon Northwest is alright but they're expensive as hell. To find the one i'm buying in a couple weeks i just snooped around on newegg. Acer Aspire AS5742G-6480 > Alienware M11x The alienware has 2gb of DDR3-800, a 160GB HDD, a 1.3GHz Core2Duo and a GT335 for $600 The Acer has an i3-380M (2.53 GHz), 4GB of DDR3-1066, a 500GB HDD (still 5400rpm) and a GT540M for $650
I've been looking at msi laptops and I'm impressed, anybody ahev any experience with them? specifaclly this one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152230&Tpk=msi%20GT660R-494US that looks like a hell of a deal and at a perfect price for me. also what about the dell xps 15? it also looks pretty good. MSI is good, but holy shit. That's expensive. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] (For your average joe buying a laptop) It is a good deal though.
ASUS. Better than ANY Alienware and by far better than their desktops. Downside is it gets dirty real fast. There's a pad for your palms at the front, and the screen is a dust magnet.
Depends really, but stay away from laptops specifically labeled as "Gaming Laptops", you'll get screwed over by the price and most of them are pretty terrible build quality.
I got an amazing deal on an Alienware M17x then I upgraded the HDD and RAM to 1TB and 8GB. Sometimes they're fine if you can find a steal on it that you can't pass up.
If you're wealthy Sager is the best you can do. For the given range, ASUS.
i heard asus has a ton of bloatware
They do have a lot but I don't think that have more than normal. when i got my netbook it had about as much bloatware as my old dell, but maybe they don't put as much bloatware on their netbooks.
i heard asus has a ton of bloatware
Implying that no consumer system manufactures does that.
Apple has the best Mac OS X laptops. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] Well they are the only one

what are the pros and cons of the laptop companies you've bought from?
what are the pros and cons of the laptop companies you've bought from?
Asus in my experiences have had great support, great price/performance and nice warranties. I just reinstall windows when I get any laptop , all of them have bloatware [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220921 best bet for the gaming laptop market
Sager's are niiiice, but pricey. I have one myself.
Sager's are niiiice, but pricey. I have one myself.
how do the speakers sound?
i heard asus has a ton of bloatware
Try a HP laptop fresh from the factory then. My new HP laptop was slower than my old beaten up Zepto laptop, simply due to all the bloatware they've managed to shovel onto the harddisk. I swear some of the manager's must've had a bet on how much useless shit they could ship their computers with, that's the only logical explanation.

UK or US? Cause http://ebuyer.com are awesome for UK.
The US
Sony vaio is pretty nice if you can afford it. Its kinda in the apple direction case you pay for looks but they do have some quality hardware. I first wanted to get an Asus but they are so damned ugly.
Who gives a crap what your computer looks like? As long as it functions, then it's good enough for me.
I do.
I'd suggest you Toshiba. They've got some good ones in their line. I myself use the l670 for work. But even for gaming it performs quite well (Has a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650). If you want pure gaming power there's the Qosmio Line, which are ment only for that reason.
Who gives a crap what your computer looks like? As long as it functions, then it's good enough for me.
I care because if I'm gonna be staring at it (even indirectly) for hours, I want it to at least look decent.
