• G53SW - Over Heating Problem on BF3

I personally, have a desktop PC, but my friend whom i pushed to buy this laptop, and also BF3, is having some troubles. He's had the computer since June, never had any problems with heat. He recently picked up BF3, he tried to play some, but when he plays for about 3 minutes the computer just shuts down, and at times BSOD's. I hooked him up with speedfan to monitor his temps, and they were getting pretty hot, so next was buying a cooling pad. Cooling pad is on max, with three movable fans, 2 pulling out and one pushing into a vent. Still has the problem. I'm not sure what to tell him, the laptop is well suited to run BF3, but it just can't handle it? If anyone can help me fix this issue, or give me some suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Laptops are not for gaming. You have a few options, Get the laptop replaced under warranty in hope that the new one has better heat transfer. Take the computer apart and reapply thermal paste where appropriate. (This would void any warranties) Down-clock CPU and GPU until it can run properly with its current heat-sinking abilities. (This could void warranties too) Sell the laptop for a decent desktop. [editline]asdf[/editline] I highly recommend just down-clocking the CPU and GPU, that's how I kept my GPU from exploding on contact with Red Orchestra 2. There's no noticeable performance loss for how much I had to down-clock it too keep it cool.
