• how to fix a circular scratch on a dvd?

So, DVDs I ordered from amazon came in and I decided to watch one on my ps3. Seemed like a good idea at the time, until the ps3 started to make freaky noises, so I ejected the disc and saw that there were circular scratches on the top. Now, this usually isn't a problem, unless it's a double sided disc. So now when anything tries to read what I assume is the scratched part of the disc the video freezes. I checked Google and most of the results were people who had scratches on their 360 games. Any ideas/methods that would work to fix the disc?
Car Wax + Towel.

Valdors solution is probably the best. I've had some scratches on 360' games though, and I was able to remove them just by rubbing some cloth against them.
Car Wax + Towel.
Thanks, tried this and it worked... mostly. The DVD played much further. I probably just need to do it again and work more wax in the scratches. EDIT: Second time through worked like a charm :woop: It plays fine now. Thanks Valdor
You can also use toothpaste. It's a mild abrasive so it smooths out the scratch. Try it if the wax doesn't work. (Obviously rinse the hell out of the disk after)
Circular scratches will destroy capabilities of it working like new.. straight scratches, then you have hope but circular ones :ohdear: Give up and get another copy [editline]10:02AM[/editline] Circular scratches will destroy capabilities of it working like new.. straight scratches, then you have hope but circular ones :ohdear: Give up and get another copy
