• Need a laptop with a great battery and decent hardware

Like the title suggest I want a laptop that has great battery life (>5h) but also decent performance (doesn't have to be an i7 with a mobility radeon 5870 or anything like that obviously). The price should be below 1500$. Also no more than 15.6", I intend to carry this to college.
1500$ laptop for college. Are you insane? Go look at a cheap Acer timeline or something.

If you want great performance, your battery life is going to go down. It all depends on use, age, and abuse.

DV6-3050US, around 900 bucks. Comes with two graphics card, HD5650 for graphic intensive tasks and HD4250 for saving battery. Pretty good laptop

What do you mean? Bad build quality? [editline]09:11PM[/editline] Also what's the difference between DV6-3050US and DV6-3050EM?
I don't want to sound like I'm hating on the brand just for the sake of hating on the brand but quite frankly their products are just cheap. Cheap build quality, defective parts and terrible customer service. They're the kind of computer thats designed to be manufactured and pumped out for the sole purpose of dominating the shelf space in every Futureshop and Bestbuy. You'll be a lot happier with an Asus or MSI laptop.

If you don't have a problem with HP then thats fine, stick with them if you want. I've been employed as a technician for BestBuy and I'm currently with DND so I've worked with a variety HP hardware on a regular basis. After a lot of the crap I've seen from that company I just can't really recommend their non-enterprise level stuff.
