My monitor has just randomly turned to a shade of blue.

Title says it all. It was fine about 5 minutes ago then it just changed.
I think my motherboard is dying. I can't try my graphics because it isn't working. So I've been using integrated graphics.
tighten the monitor cable connection
tighten the monitor cable connection
It went blue in use, how could tightening the cable fix it?
Your gfx would not turn your screen to a shade of blue, if it was your gfx if would probably start artifacting. Check your monitor settings maybe red and green got toned down somehow.

I was on facepunch and the screen flickered blue and it did it a again a bit after then it permanently blue. Even after restarting.

If your cable is loose, it's possible the other colors aren't being sent to the monitor.
This happened to my monitor ages ago. Something inside the monitor is probably broken. One of the tubes has possibly died. The only real solution is to get a new monitor. You could open it up I guess, but you'd have to know what you're doing and it'd probably cost more to fix than to replace.

I wouldn't open my monitor.
I had this problem before at my Nana's house too, I just plugged the cable in more tightly, unplug it and plug it back in again, otherwise, it's new monitor time.

I will try that but I think I need a new monitor or it's my computer. I've been having problems with my computer lately.
Check the cable already, it isn't hard to do. Different pins in the connector usually carry different color channels, it's probably just bad contacts.
Using different monitor its fine now, dads using mine its fine. My computer is at fault. It's stuffed.
It is 99% the cable. I don't think you realize that VGA cables send the colors on different pins and when one doesn't have connection it usually starts to appear in some weird color.
Plug your old monitor back in and play around with the cable, you'll see.
Are you using a CRT monitor?
if you are, then maybe one of the video cards are dying.
Did it really not occur to you that you fixed it by moving the monitors (ie. practically putting the cables back in place)?

Yeah if it really was your pc your dad's monitor would have shown the same problem.
If you want to try to save it, take the cord, blow on it, and use a credit card to straighten any possibly bent pins. If that doesn't work, just go to staples, and look in the clearance section, often times they'll have cheap, slightly damaged boxes with perfectly good LCD monitors in it for pretty cheap. Or CompUSA.

You have a hard time adding up 1+1 eh?
Its the cable!
Unplug the cable and retighten it on both ends. It's the cable, not the PC.
I think the message we're trying to get across is
CHECK THE CABLE

lulwut.
CRTs have cathode guns, not video cards. The only reason a cathode gun would fail is if it was defective, otherwise they just get progressively darker over time.
My sister had this, No matter how much we repositioned the cable it was stuck... I tried turning the cable around and it worked fine!
I guess electrons like to flow upside down :v:
People get lazier and lazier these days...
"Okay, so we switched monitors and mine was working on my dads, my dads worked too though but it has to be the computer! No point working on it any more."
same thing is happening to my 8 year old 15" GNR monitor
its the cable
im going to butcher up a spare VGA cable to fix it.
Its a colour tube thats gone and broke, happened to my laptop (yes it is relevent) but it had turned red instead of blue.
If your monitor is within warranty you can get it replaced, as iit is most definately not your fault.

A gun? Not quite. It's just a beam of electrons.
