I have just purchased a new laptop with the following specs SPECS: OS: Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium CPU: AMD Phenom™ II Black Edition quad-core mobile processor X920 (2 MB L2 cache, 2.30 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB, 45 W) RAM: 6 GB of DDR3 1066 MHz memory HDD: x2 620GB Harddrive GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 with 1024 MB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM, supporting Unified Video Decoder (UVD), OpenEXR High Dynamic-Range (HDR) technology, Shader Model 5.0, Microsoft® DirectX® 11, OpenGL® 3.1, OpenCL™ 1.1 I had this laptop for about only 3 days and have just installed autocad 2011 trial version for homework. But everytime u use the line command my mouse lags very bad
Making a rectangle is flawless. Also i have to turn off hardware acceleration or the green highlight leaves behind trails. Maybe this is a hardware problem? And i get the error message every time i start autocad: the configured heidi driver cannot be loaded. switching to default software driver
try updating your video drivers. also, how much memory is dedicated to the GPU? I'm assuming it's 1GB (most if not, all 5650s have 1gb), but if it's shared memory that may be the culprit.
Videos drivers are up to date since day 1. ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 with 1024 MB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM, supporting Unified Video Decoder (UVD), OpenEXR High Dynamic-Range (HDR) technology, Shader Model 5.0, Microsoft® DirectX® 11, OpenGL® 3.1, OpenCL™ 1.1 From acer site it self
Try rebooting your computer
Try rebooting your computer
Tried that. Also i noticed "lag" everytime theres those measuring lines. The dotted ones with a measurement on top of it. Angles and widths lag me alot.
Check GPU settings inside autocad.
where do i go to do that? i can only find hardware acceleration and thats turned off. [editline]9th February 2011[/editline] found out why. dynmode is causing the lagging problem. i couldnt either turn down dynmode or turn off windows aero theme.
how do i set that so whenever i start autocad it turns of aero theme? checking off the 2 check box under compatibility doesn't work
I have really bad ghosting problems now. It's probably hardware problems cause my netbook runs autocad smoother then this laptop.
I got no problems with Autocad, Inventor or Solid edge on a Vista PC using aero. Are you sure thats causing it?
