Im still cruisin around with my Geforce 8800gt, and its getting frustrating trying to play the newer games in higher resolutions. So im tryin to get a new card around christmas, and since im a poor guy it has to be around 300$ / 250€. The Radeon seems to be a bit better in benchmarks and stuff but im not to sure about buying a Radeon since I always had problems with the drivers back in the days. Any suggestions? Current build: Intel Q6600 4GB DDR2 Geforce 8800GT
Both are good choices, they're both on par, slight differences depending on game and resolution and dual configuration they scale just about equally too. If your preference is towards Nvidia get the 560 Ti.
i had almost same build u have, i had a 88gt changed to a 4850, and now i have a gtx 560ti before getting that 560ti, i was considering between the 560 and the 6950, based on benchmarks and reviews around the internet, i think they basicly the same performace, the reasons why i took the 560ti, was the size and nvidia physx.
Kay, I'll probably go with the 560 TI then, thank you guys. I guess 2gigs are not needed yet.
2GB of VRAM is for AA and all that shit and multiple monitors or very high resolution monitors.
Hmmmh... Is the GTX 570 worth the +100€? I want my GPU to last a bit...
Its quite a bit more powerful, and if you got the money to spend, then i don't see why not. Although the 560ti will run all games well and usually well enough, the 570 will just give you a reasonably large fps boost. Almost the only game that the 560ti might not have a completely stable 60fps on will be bf3 on ultra, which it will run quite fine anyhow.
