Annoying beeping sound in background while voice recording

Ok so heres the deal:

I got a Steelseries 5h v2 USB headset. I do some minor voice acting so ofcourse a good mic is essential. My last one broke down so I got this one since I've been hearing such great things about it. Now don't get me wrong, it's a great headset, very comfterble. Unfortunatly I needed to do get some recording done so I launched audacity. But after recording I noticed that theres a very annoying beep going on that goes like this:
Beeeeeeep (1 second pause) Beeeeeeeep and so on.

I've got the latest drivers and I'm running windows 7. The FAQ didn't make my any wiser, same counts for google. If anyone of you have a solution please tell me.

Oh yeah, and buying a new soundcard is out of the picture cause I recently bought a new PC and monitor, so I'm broke for now.
