What sort of scary, creepy, or just plain unsettling things have you found on the internet?
Unfortunately, I've came across way too many things, though I am not posting them all.
Mainly, the scariest thing I have found so far would be this comic: http://comic.naver.com/webtoon/detail.nhn?titleId=350217
(Warning, this comic contains two jumpscares and it takes control of your scrolling)
Also, if you hate these kind of things, you can go through this thread to find what sort of stuff to avoid. Also, here's a guide to avoiding screamers that I posted on reddit.
A way to avoid these things on the internet would be to install a website blocker into your web browser and then add the urls of some well known screamer sites. Here's some URLs you can use. I made sure they're not clickable so you don't click on them accidentally.WARNING, ALL LINKS BELOW ARE SCREAMERS
- akk.li/pics/anne.jpg (Probably the scariest of all of these. SEIZURE WARNING)
- getwreckedkid.com/shock/getwreckedkid.swf (SEIZURE WARNING)
- killwithme.com (Don't know, haven't seen it before)
- scetch.net/alts.txt (Same as above)
- winterrowd.com/ (Not a screamer itself, but has screamer games)
And with YouTube videos, if a video seems like it might be a screamer, pause it and look in the comments section. Chances are, if it's a screamer, someone will say so in the comments. "Subliminal message" videos tend to be screamers. You should also avoid "Baby swears in sleep", "Ghostly car commercial", "Jingle Bells Reversed", and "Where's Waldo".
While this won't completely stop you from finding screamers, it should help.
I found once a webcomic with a girl at night walking on the street and encountering a ghost whos searching his baby, i am unsure about the right story but it had a jumpscare that freaked the shit out of me.
I really hate jumpscares or screamers. I like more the things that slowly builds up "tension" and a good story.
Whatever happened to the Generally Fucking Creepy thread or whatever it was called.
A lot of it was reposts, but it had some good OC every so often.

The GD Creepy thread is on life-support, it used to be thriving but now it's lucky to get OC every couple weeks.
This is on the front page of the thread, but it's like one of the only things on the internet (besides shock links or gore videos and stuff like that) that I just couldn't watch the first time I saw it. I don't even know why.

The only thing that's really given me the heebie jeebies was when I used to explore dead/dying forums with this playing.
There's something unsettling about sifting through the last days of a forum. It's even more unsettling when you realize many of the sites are potentially dangerous due to their popularity as places for people to trade things that would otherwise get you in oodles of legal trouble.
The eeriest times are when you're casually exploring a "dead" forum, and you notice a user's online.
That korean comic really got me the first time. I still shiver every time I read it and I am very resistant to scares. The guy who made it is a genius.
A great way to avoid screamers and shock sites (on Firefox) is using Block Site and Adblock. YouTube, however, you're on your own.
As for something scary to me, it's watching a flash on Newgrounds and a screamer pops up out of nowhere.

420yolo.com is a screamer site that's pretty good to trick people with.

Fuck that video, I remember seeing it a while ago and not being able to sleep for a week.
At my first days on Facepunch, That Cat, believe it or not.
I thought it had some screamer inside if you stare at it too long.
Apart from that, I've seen lots of shit, but nothing really scared or disturbed me.
Another story, I think it's same creator.

This sparked my curiosity, can you share some links?

It's a Numbers station. They're radio broadcasts from unknown places that are just a person speaking numbers into a radio. We don't know what they're for or who controls them, but they're across the world and in different languages. Some people think they're transmissions for secret agents, some people think they're for sleeper cells, some people think they're for controlling brainwashed agents. ~Nobody knows ~

Random youtube comment: "Still better than Nicki Minaj"
Wow man those number station thing is really creepy.
I found a recording from the Lincolnshire Poacher Number station. You can hear at first a melody and then a female robotic voice saying some weird number constellations.

oh my god fuck number stations
I remember my friend had a virus that kept playing The Swedish Rhapsody on his computer over and over again :v:
Any of those images on the internet of some spooky looking abandoned place with a red circle on something, meant to be a ghost or something, you stare at it wondering where the fuck is it, must be nothing, and then you glance somewhere else and there's a freaky as fuck face staring back blended in.
That or it's a gif disguised as a jpg
