WHAT TO LOOK FOR: -Turtle Beach™® brand headsets.
Oh look, PCGamesN is putting native advertising into the News Node. We understand you need to make money, but fuck this Turtle Beach shit.
I had a Turtle Beach headset once... it broke because I didn't uncoil the wire every day.
Why complain about this article when it's clearly stated in the title that it is a sponsored article?
Turtle Beach headsets sound pretty good. But it's a good rule to have to never buy a headset unless it's mostly metal. Plastic breaks on them so easily and then you're left with either a broken flappy pair of ear muffs that you can't hear very well out of, or another $60 to fork down for another pair
"Sponsored by Turtle Beach" I read "Massive advertisement for Turtle Beach."
Turtle Beach headsets are made of fucking tissue paper.
You know, if this article had been an honest review that acknowledged the competition as also being high in quality, or even excluded all mention of brand, I might have chosen turtle beach for my next headset. This drivel though ensures that won't happen.
I just bought a Z60, and I'm happy with it.
Why by turtle beach when companies like audio technica exist? Guess it's preference.
Joe's tips on buying a gaming headset -Don't buy turtle beach
I'm having a good time with my HAMA headset. Comfy, cheap, and sounds pretty good, too They have survived for more than 2 years now
My buddy went through three Turtle Beach headsets before realizing how shitty they are and bought something simple from Logitech instead. Each one cost him around $60.
"Sponsored by Turtle Beach" I read "Massive advertisement for Turtle Beach."
Well yeah, that's how sponsorship works.
I've had my Logitech G35 for ~4 years and it costed me €100. My friend went through around 5 Turtle Beaches in that same time for like €50 each. [editline]15th November 2014[/editline] I'd also like to point out that i'm a careless motherfucker and my cord is tangled to shit very often and I drop it probably every week and it still works perfectly (aside from the leather falling apart a bit on the left earcup)
did they really put audiophile and turtle beach in the same sentence oh.. oh dear
Why by turtle beach when companies like audio technica exist? Guess it's preference.
Different price class? Plus audio-technica mainly makes headphones, they don't make many headsets, and the headsets they do make are pretty expensive.
Different price class? Just get a Siberia V2 and you're set for a while
I have had a headset from them for 4-5 years now, still not broke tbh, there a great brand. I dont know what any of you are talking 'bout
Get a Good Headphone/Mic setup and you don't even need a headset.
Why by turtle beach when companies like audio technica exist? Guess it's preference.
preference at that point is 100% based on the word 'gaming' being in the title and they look all technical and cool. It's like buying Alienware computers You can get equivalent/better quality headsets for much cheaper, the only difference being it's not covered in a flashy, bulky shell
Or you can just buy something cheaper that does anything you could want out of a headset, like insulation and good sound quality, and save enough money for a keyboard or a mouse, instead of paying out the wazoo for a bunch 'a letters.
A couple years ago I bought some surround sound turtle beach headset for like $130 or so. Lasted two months before the right side fell off. I take great care of my electronics so that shit pissed me off.
Get a Good Headphone/Mic setup and you don't even need a headset.
Does nobody miss like having a headset when you have a "desktop" mic? Don't have to worry about talking into the mic, don't have to worry about how far i am away or what direction i am looking at etc. Not sure if my desktop mics have jsut been universaly shitty but thats pretty much my experience.
Different price class? Fuck Turtle Beach. Premium price for flimsy build quality that falls apart after only a few uses. And I'm gentle with my shit.
I use the earphones that came with my phone. They're actually pretty comparable to my old Sennheisser's. Sony MDR-NC31E, for those interested
Am I the only person on FP who's perfectly happy with their Turtle Beach headset :v
