• Where can I buy reference video cards

Yes, i've tried Google, I couldn't find a single site selling any. To be exact im looking for AMD reference video cards.
Most manufactures produces the video card to reference designs usually if it comes with a reference design cooler. Unless the product packaging says otherwise, consider it as reference design.
HIS and XFX sell reference cards with different stickers on the heat sink body but go with a sapphire vapor-x version as they are more quiet
Doesn't sapphire only make AMD cards?
well, that's what he's looking for
Why do you want a reference card anyways? Custom coolers are usually better.
Why do you want a reference card anyways? Custom coolers are usually better.
actually, usually is the other way around in many cases the aftermarket cooler (like sapphire vapor-x versions) performs worse then the reference cooler
i have a gigabyte HD 6850 (both brand and VRAM) with an aftermarket cooler that hits around 58 with auto speed around 51-50 under load at 100%
Sorry, I meant a stock AMD video card. Example here: http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/amd-radeon-hd-6000/hd-6790/Pages/amd-radeon-hd-6790-overview.aspx
They basically don't exist.
They basically don't exist.
Nope, seen people with them, example: Linustechtips on YouTube [editline]20th August 2011[/editline] You can even have them selected to be put in your pre-built pc on IBuyPower.
I've never seen any on sale. Why would you want one, anyways? A lot of manufacturers take the clocks up a notch when you compare them to the reference design because their manufacturing process is good enough for it.
Heres one in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8vfG3cku6c&feature=channel_video_title but i want one because i like stock items [editline]20th August 2011[/editline] AMD Radeon HD 6990
I couldn't find a stock version so I had to do with a superior XFX one. First world problems. But seriously, ask Linus himself, there's no GPU that looks like that in the link he has in the description. (And it's not like you'll be looking at the GPU while you're using it)

I love the way the reference coolers look on most cards, I prefer a more enclosed card where I can't see any of the PCB or internals at all (except maybe a little piping, god I love a bit of heat piping coming out the side), especially the way the 68XX, 69XX and 9800 series reference cards looked, look at this baby: So elegant. [editline]20th August 2011[/editline] My post sounded like graphics card porn.

You're right, my 6870 reference card runs at 40c idle (which is fine) but can reach upto 85 on load, still wouldn't trade it for a fancy modern age'y one though, in-fact when I buy another I'm definitely getting a second reference just so they match.

I'm interested in this same question but for watercooling purposes, as i'll be replacing the cooler with a waterblock. Does no-one know where I can get one from? Or should I just get a cheap simple-cooler one and replace the cooler?
Reference cards suck at cooling ): But they look so cool in crossfire.
Stock cards are so sexy, omg.
Make sticker, apply sticker, done.
