Snake Fisher? [editline]30th August 2012[/editline] Or Solid Sam, that sounds nice too.
Guys remember that series we've been going with for ~20 years? Well, FUCK THAT!! Lets do something completely different.
Guys remember that series we've been going with for ~20 years? Well, FUCK THAT!! Lets do something completely different.
What the fuck are you talking about
Guys remember that series we've been going with for ~20 years? Well, FUCK THAT!! Lets do something completely different.
Oh yeah, apparently it's an MMORPG guest staring Link as they stop a nuclear reanimated Steve Jobs. Calm your shit, seriously.
Guys remember that series we've been going with for ~20 years? Well, FUCK THAT!! Lets do something completely different.
That's a beautiful thing called INNOVATION. As long as it can still be played as a sneaking game other options are entirely welcome.
I think that one of the more interesting parts is that the demo ran on PC.
This sounds like an awesome concept in my opinion.
I think that one of the more interesting parts is that the demo ran on PC.
That's not terribly uncommon.
Guys remember that series we've been going with for ~20 years? Well, FUCK THAT!! Lets do something completely different.
Well I'm sure they've already managed that with that bullshit action game featuring Raiden
That's not terribly uncommon.
Possibly, since I know absolutely nothing about this kinda stuff... But at least it works!
yes pleaseeee
But at least it works!
Well as the article says, it runs on the Fox engine which was designed with the ease of making multiplatform titles in mind.
That is definitely Naked Snake, the beard and the peace walker sneaking suit give it away.
Please be next-gen please be next-gen.
open world? Sold.
Ehh I just feel that any changes are gonna impact the core mechanics negatively I like the hard stealth "if you get spotted there's a 90% chance you're dead" kinda action, and any changes that allow you to run and gun are gonna affect that. Besides, since it's an open world game, won't that mean there'd be multiple routes to complete an objective? That will also affect the stealth play and level design based on getting from a specific point A to a specific point B.
I think that one of the more interesting parts is that the demo ran on PC.
There was an RPS article about this years E3 where almost every major AAA demo was shown being played on a computer.

But, I think an open world design can positively influence the stealth gameplay. Imagine getting detected or having an alert on route to the objective. The consequence could be that the entire rest of the region goes on alert. Instead of just running away and trying again, it ramps up the difficulty because the rest of the map is on full alert. Of course I don't know if they are going to keep it similar to MGS with the alert countdown timer or if this will implement a new system. Whatever they have in mind, I'm sure the difficulty will still be pretty high. I can't imagine they are going to sacrifice one of the selling points of MGS.

He said that there was gonna be much less stealth in MGS4 and while it had been a little actioned up it was still a pure stealth game.
That's a beautiful thing called INNOVATION. As long as it can still be played as a sneaking game other options are entirely welcome.
You're right. As long as I can sneak, it will be fine. However, I advise Kojima to pay attention to the West. I mean, if it's gonna have actiony/shooting elements, at the very least have good constrols.
First I learn there is a new Metal Gear, then I learn it's open-world. Today has been amazing.
That's a beautiful thing called INNOVATION. As long as it can still be played as a sneaking game other options are entirely welcome.
Running and gunning has always been a viable option if you play on normal difficulty and lower.
I've been playing MGS games wrong all the time, for me it's always more fun when you go in guns blazing.
Well they finished the Main Series, so why should I feel bad about them trying new stuff? They kept the Stealth Mechanic throughout the Main Series till the Epic Quest of Solid Snake found its conclusion. I trust in Kojima :D
i personally think this is a very nice idea. I hope it will be kinda like snake eater and i think its gonna be on the vita...some how.
reminds me of watch dogs. I wonder they"ll release more info on that game. I'm excited for this one. Pure stealth and open world?sold
Pumped for this. An open-world MGS game? That sounds baller as fuck. Also, Stealth is the staple of MGS. They wouldn't be dumb and remove that.

Ground Zeroes? Oh no 911 911s are going to happen all over the world! Save us Snake!
