Hello, I don't post in this subforum much, but I figured that you guys could help me out. Normally, I don't ask other people for help with my computer, other than my father, who's a systems administrator and overall extremely knowledgeable with computers. Anyway, After about 6 years, I realized that my speakers were dying of extended use, so I put in nice new ones. They worked for about a month, and all of a sudden, I start up my computer and I have no sound whatsoever. Everything is fine hardware-wise, nothing's in the wrong spot or anything. For some reason, my microphone works. Whenever I have, for example, a youtube video playing, the small speaker icon in the taskbar says that it's getting sound (the volume slider's green volume bar type thing moves up and down and whatnot such as when it's working) but i'm not hearing anything, not even from headphones plugged directly into the computer. I am running on Vista Home Premium with SP2 installed. Thanks in advance, and I look forward to hearing your guys' solutions to my problem.
Drivers? Reinstall that to see if that helps. Its just my opinion. It could also be your sound settings, something might have been disabled.
