So I want to buy a domain, if I buy a domain from GoDaddy will I be forced to get their hosting? Or can I choose which host I like.

I'd suggest namecheap or lithiumhosting instead of godaddy.
Namecheap. Many people in the Web Development section will state they use a Lithium Hosting + Namecheap domain. Even I use that combination. Good host, good domain service.
What idiot would choose godaddy? Namecheap all the way.
