• PC reboots when playing certain games, I get a CPU Frequency warning

Hey guys, whenever I play some certain games (currently I get it when playing Scribblenauts Unlimited) for 20 or so minutes, my PC just reboots and I get this warning:
Warning! Now System is in Safe Mode. Please re-setting CPU Frequency in the CMOS setup <F1> : to continue <DEL> : Bios Setup
I have checked my BIOS and everything seems to be fine. My CPU is not overheating. When I press F1 I can continue on and use my PC again, but if I play the game again the same thing happens. I am getting a PC upgrade for most of my PC including CPU in a month or so, but I need to get this fixed. Here's my hardware: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+, ~3,1 GHz 4 GB of RAM System Model: M56S-S3 NVIDIA GeForce 550 Ti, 2768 MB. If it asks to reset my CPU frequency, what is it meant to be?
Have you tried resetting your BIOS with the CMOS jumper on the motherboard? You could remove the battery instead for 30 seconds if you can't find the jumper. Make sure you disconnect the power cable and press the power button to get rid of residual current.

And why exactly is my PC telling me to reset the CPU frequency?
It maybe thinks it's overclocked (it might be)
Oh. What is the CPU Frequency that should be set to my CPU?
Google your cpu.
If you are not sure what CPU you have you can check in system properties or with a handy little (free) tool called CPU-Z. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
Cpu z in this situation isnt required, he knows it and has posted it in the op.
It's default at 3ghz. Try underclocking it to that or below.
Alright, thanks for the help guys. I'll try that. Just one question - is Scribblenauts Unlimited supposed to use so much CPU power? Both of my cores are used at 100% when playing the game. I manage to get both CPUs below 90% usage when I go to windowed mode in the game and that seemed to fix that problem, but I'll still underclock my CPU.
Some games do use 100% cpu or almost that amount, as long as the game itself isn't running slow it should be fine
Seems a bit insane for a 2d scroller.

It's probably badly optimized, it's also a new game so there maybe an update out soon which fixes the CPU usage

It's still not perfect, but compared to me having low fps even on low to being able to play some of it medium is great.
