I've started scans with Avriah today and I happen to have some weird problems with this Trojan, which so far has been it's only detection.
It's name is TR/Peed.77824.E according to Avriah, and it had no virus information page, despite detecting it. After some research on 'Peed' via Wikipedia, it might be related to the Storm Worm that struck a few years ago and is still ongoing. However, to ensure I was being thorough, I did a Google search on it's exact name, and only got non-English entries that seemed to talk about the virus, rendering it useless to me. It apparently bundled itself in or alongside the student edition of 3DSmax I got through autodesk's site. Its been detected twice and Avriah has said it's a "mailbox" and as such will not be repaired or deleted, which sounds weird to me.
Can anyone tell me what this is, and what I should do with it? I can try to provide more information if necessary.
easiest thing is to use norton power eraser (supposedly can remove it [and the only other tool I can find])

I am not sure if it needs a key or not so your mileage will vary with it

but if you think norton is the devil:

I'll hit it with Malwarebytes first (Hopefully it'll just remove it). But I'll use your links if Malware fails as well.

Well the norton one is highly destructive when it finds a virus (for the virus or heuristic scanner finds what looks like a virus) so it might help to back up but then again, this is a botnet.

I seriously doubt it got bundled in with software from a well known and reputable vendor, I mean really... I have 2011 and 2012 from them and have had no such thing happen to me.
Maybe you were infected already and didn't notice until after installing 3ds Max?

These are the spots in question, should I just go and delete autodesk, or is this a false alarm?
Well did you download it direct from autodesk or some shitty site that isnt autodesk
The Autodesk Education Community site. ( http://students.autodesk.com )
Go to the location where the cab file is and see how big it is.
I dont think they would put a cab file in a support folder
there's a lot of cab files, but scanning the specific one does cause the virus to come up, apparently it got embedded somehow in there. It's also the only cab filed named data to have a capital in front. (IE Data and not data)
Delete it and scan the installer and then repair.
