• Upgrading my PSU, GPU and RAM

Hey guys Since I'll be playing WildStar next week and my FPS isn't optimal (20-35 FPS), I decided it's finally time to upgrade my PC. I don't know very much about what parts are best for me, so I'm asking you for advice. My budget is €400/$545/£323 (I live in Belgium). These are my current specs: Motherboard ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO.,LTD - Model: 770-C45 (MS-7599) - BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. - BIOS Model: Default System BIOS, versie V1.13 PCI1 (Vrij), PCI2 (Vrij), PCI3 (Vrij), PCIE1 (Vrij), PCIE2 (Vrij), PCIE3 (Vrij) - Poorten: PS1 (Muis), PS1 (Toetsenbord), COM1 (Serieel), JACK1 (Audio), JACK1 (Audio), JACK1 (Audio), USB1 (USB), USB1 (USB), USB1 (USB), USB1 (USB), USB1 (USB), USB1 (USB), LAN (Netwerk), JBAT1 (Geen), CD_IN1 (Audio), JCI1 (Geen), JUSB1 (USB), JUSB2 (USB), JUSB3 (USB), JFP1 (Geen), JFP2 (Geen), FDD1 (Geen), IDE1 (Geen), SATA1 (8251 Compatibel), SATA2 (8251 Compatibel), SATA3 (8251 Compatibel), SATA4 (8251 Compatibel), SATA5 (8251 Compatibel), SATA6 (8251 Compatibel) Vrij: Free Geen: None Processor ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Model: AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 Processor (Quad Core) 3000*MHz - Socket & Cache(s): CPU 1, 2048*KB L2 Cache RAM ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Size: 4095*MB RAM - Type(s): 4096*MB RAM (DDR2-667 PC2-5300 333*MHz, DIMM) GPU ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Model: AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series - Memory: 1024*MB VRAM As for the GPU I was looking at the MSI Radeon R9 280x, but since I'll only be playing at a 1920x1080 resolution, that card may be overkill? For my PSU, I was thinking about the Corsair RM750. RAM would just be the cheapest one around. Other suggestions?
Upgrading the ram would be a waste of money on ddr2. You have to check whether your case is big enough to fit these cards in as well, some older cases can't fit newer cards. What PSU do you have right now? I would personally suggest waiting till you get another 100 euros and upgrading everything. You might end up needing a case too if the card won't fit, but probably not. I'm not too sure about which one exactly and I can't check it as I'm not at home currently, but it's only got 400W. I'm fine waiting a bit longer to get my money's worth, but I'm wondering... is 500W (PSU) enough? (Also, I'm confused on i3 vs Quad core... Is this Dual Core really better? I read something about hyperthreading but... I'm still a massive noob. I also found this processor, which is only €50 more... I'm wondering if it's worth it? i5 4570) And I know I suggested a 3GB card because I wanted to be sure I have enough power, but is the advantage worth paying for? Thanks for helping me, I don't want to sound like a dick with my questions.
It says DDR2-667 PC2-5300 in your specs, though that motherboard should support ddr3, unless you have an old model or something. 500W is more than enough, the estimated max power consumption is under 400w, though you might be better off getting a Corsair CX500M for a few more euros since it has a better efficiency (80+bronze) and it's semi modular. Intel vs AMD cpu architecture is different, you can't compare the two. A 6 core fx 6300 is weaker than a 2 core i3 4150. I mean if you have the extra money for an i5 definitely get it, but that's 50% more expensive. VRAM (3gb) isn't really an important spec, but the 280x itself is a great card, similar to a gtx 770 which is a lot more expensive.
