• Looking for a new MMO

My brother, father and myself are looking for an mmo to play together and none of us have really payed attention to any of them so I've come looking for guidance. We don't wanna play WoW, we did for like 2 years before we got bored and quit. Rift wont work for us cause we can't even download the damn thing. It'd be nice if it wasn't cookie cutter classes like "Warrior" who runs in and tanks everything while doing very little damage or "Mage" who just throws fireballs, you know what I mean. We've also played EVE. To make things short, suggest MMO's.
EVE Online. However it takes some time to get into and you need to have patience to play. Its pretty fun once you get into it. Playing as a group together I would say it would be great fun.

Sadly my brother never really got into it, my dad got bored pretty fast too.

Haven and Hearth. Alot like Wurm Online, only- well, it's ALOT like Wurm Online. Check out the site. http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/
Did you ever pvp? Because that is where all the fun is had.
Well not really, I wasn't very old then (~10) and I only mined and killed NPCs. Also scavenging. My dad really didn't into it enough to PVP at all though.
Dead Frontier is pretty OK.
Dead Frontier is pretty OK.
Looking for something with more depth and preferably 3D though I'm pretty I'm pretty sure none of us are against the 2d top down type idea (Totally drawing a blank here on what it's called...)
APB It's not that amazing, but it's got a lot of customization in it and it's hella fun.
Maplestory. I guess it was fun when I was about 7 years old.

Definitely try APB.
For some reason I really want to get back into WoW...I have the expansions except cataclysm but I'm not sure :ohdear:
I've played everything and a lot of people are going to hate me now but p2p runescape is the best in my opinion.
Id suggest World of Warcraft.
Yeah, try playing WoW again but this time doing something completely different.

[editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
Definitely try APB.
Agreed, here OP: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1095813-APB-All-Points-Bulletin-v4-Stealing-vans-full-of-loot-since-Closed-Beta
Face of Mankind is pretty cool and it's free, too. Just remember, you die a LOT in that game.
Check out warhammer online
Lord of the Rings Online is free to download now and free to play. Although, I think it would be too much like
It'd be nice if it wasn't cookie cutter classes like "Warrior" who runs in and tanks everything while doing very little damage or "Mage" who just throws fireballs, you know what I mean.
...
Dead Frontier is pretty OK.
Yeah but the community of it is fucked up.
