• Building my first gaming pc, need advice on components!

Let me start by saying I don't know anything about pc building. I gathered this list of components with the help of my friend, but I am not convinced if same (or better) performance couldn't be achieved for cheaper. Or even if it would be considered good at all! Here's the list in no particular order- updated list based on your advice: - Gigabyte GTX970 4GB 256 Bit) 2xDVI, HDMI 3xDP (GV-N970IXOC-4GD) - XFX Pro Series TS550W 120mm 80+ (P1-550S-XXB9) - Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H, H97, DualDDR3-1600, SATA3, RAID, HDMI, DVI, D-Sub, ATX (GA-H97-D3H) - Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz LGA1150 BOX (BX80646I54590) - Crucial CT128MX100SSD1 128GB MX100 SATA 2.5 Inch 7mm SSD - GOODRAM DDR3 PLAY 8GB/1600 (2*4GB) CL9 Dual Rank 256*8 Old list me and mostly my friend came up with - Gigabyte GTX970 4GB 256 Bit) 2xDVI, HDMI 3xDP (GV-N970IXOC-4GD) - Be Quiet :: 630W Pure Power L8 BOX - ASRock H97M-ITX/AC, H97, DualDDR3-1600, SATA3, HDMI, mITX (H97M-ITX/AC) - Intel Core i5-4590S 3.0GHz LGA1150 OEM (CM8064601561214) - doubts about this, already been suggested to get i7 at expense of GTX 770 in place of 970 - Seagate Desktop SSHD 1TB (3,5''/ SATA III/ 7200rpm/ 64MB / 8GB SSD) - GOODRAM DDR3 PLAY 8GB/1600 (2*4GB) CL9 Dual Rank 256*8 The case is not listed as I'm thinking to reuse my old one. I've been saving up for this for a looong time and I wouldn't like to end up with garbage - please don't hold back with criticism and give me your opinions/suggest changes! Keep in mind I'm not wealthy so I'd rather it didn't exceed its current price that is ~850 euro.
Don't trade the i5 in for an i7 at expense of your GPU, for gaming the i7 is in most cases useless. The rest looks good, don't know about the RAM brand though, never heard of "PLAY", but the specs look fine.

And thanks for advice so far!
- Gigabyte GTX970 4GB 256 Bit) 2xDVI, HDMI 3xDP (GV-N970IXOC-4GD)
The GTX 970 is an amazing performing card but of course is pretty expensive. How demanding are the games you play? At what settings would you play them at?
- Be Quiet :: 630W Pure Power L8 BOX
For a PSU I strongly recommend to stick with; XFX, Seasonic, Rosewill Capstone, Superflower Golden Green HX and Antec EarthWatts Platinum units. Also to note that a GTX 970 with a general desktop Haswell Core i5 would pull around 350-550W maximum.
- Intel Core i5-4590S 3.0GHz LGA1150 OEM (CM8064601561214) - doubts about this, already been suggested to get i7 at expense of GTX 770 in place of 970
For gaming I strongly advise to stick with a Core i5 instead of an Core i7. A regular Core i5 4590 would be the most optimal.
- ASRock H97M-ITX/AC, H97, DualDDR3-1600, SATA3, HDMI, mITX (H97M-ITX/AC)
Keep in mind you've listed a mini-ITX motherboard. This form factor only has one slot. I would consider going to Micro-ATX. Be sure it's a 9 series chipset.
- DDR3 PLAY 8GB/1600 (2*4GB) CL9 Dual Rank 256*8
Just get the cheapest desktop DDR3 RAM set (2x4GB) that runs at 1.5v or below, operates at 1600mhz and does not have tall headspreaders/heatsinks.
What do you think about ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Performance? I know it has no wifi but I don't need it.
The H97 / Z97 chipset is designed for haswell refresh processors which includes the I5 4590, it can work on a H87 / Z87 chipset with a BIOS update but I wouldn't trust it. Also don't bother with the S version. Get yourself a Samsung 840 EVO as well.

[editline]15th January 2015[/editline] Here's an updated list of components based on all the advice I got so far, from here and beyond: - Gigabyte GTX970 4GB 256 Bit) 2xDVI, HDMI 3xDP (GV-N970IXOC-4GD) - Corsair CX Series 750W ATX, Modular, 80 Plus Bronze - Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H, H97, DualDDR3-1600, SATA3, RAID, HDMI, DVI, D-Sub, ATX (GA-H97-D3H) - Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz LGA1150 BOX (BX80646I54590) - Crucial CT128MX100SSD1 128GB MX100 SATA 2.5 Inch 7mm SSD - GOODRAM DDR3 PLAY 8GB/1600 (2*4GB) CL9 Dual Rank 256*8 I hope I didn't forget anything.
Looks good to me.

I'd go with a bigger SSD at this point. The thing is there is a sizable jump in performance from 120gb to 240gb but not such a big jump in price. It's clear that games are going to be in the 30gb+ size from now on, so more space is nice too.
