I have a few mod lists if anyone is looking for a specific set to customize their xcom experience. For example, these are more geared for a modern military look. Voices, firearms, armors, is all included. Or if you're just a fan of Stargate SG-1
Shameless self-promo of my Moonbase Alpha Voicepack
How far has the performance come since release? I've wanted to buy it for so long but hearing all the performance issues stopped me in my tracks

But the thing is, Xcom 2 is turn based. And as such FPS is not anywhere near as big an issue here as it is in any other genre. Everything else I barely pay attention to, and getting shot through walls goes both ways so it evens itself out while also being rare enough to let it slide. The only 'big' issue is that mods temporarily break after the base game updates. And it goes without saying (but i'll say it anyway), mods can be tempramental and might conflict with one another causing weird shit to happen. Ultimately, if the performance was great across the board it'd be a 10/10 game all day from me, but because it's got issues it gets knocked down to 9/10, thats how little the performance issues matter to me.

You'd need a pretty good computer to handle XCOM 2 + mods. Getting about 16 GBs of RAM seems to help with performance and loading mods. Also, this guide should help: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=620508289
