So my cracked screen worsened today: Naturally, it's close to Christmas and I'm going to come across some money, and in my effort to try to get the screen replaced, I called Apple Tech Support at 1-800-APL-CARE. I get connected to a tech support, they tell me the repair fee is $119.99 so I'm like "Fuck That" and ask them if it'd cost less if I went to a local Apple Store. Guess what the tech told me? No, not the normal "blah blah" crap. This tech told me I can try to replace my iPod for free by making up a story and going to the local Apple Store. I'm not kidding, the example she gave was to tell them "I was watching a video on my iPod when the screen just cracked randomly." Oh, best support tech ever.
They don't get a commission, so why not actually help customers rather than weighing them down with overblown charges?
Fair enough.

haha, that is awesome.
Worth to give it a try? haha
I like your router name. :buddy:
I like your router name. :buddy:
Wireless network you mean?
Daaaamn, if I saw a crack like that on my iPhone I would have a heart attack.
It's terrible because the screen is attached to the iPod...
It's terrible because the screen is attached to the iPod...
The touch function still works and as far as I can tell the cracks don't reach the surface (though they probably do) It's annoying with the new crack though, with the old one at least I could see if I had a good angle, now there's no good angle at all
I tried to do this with my MacBook, they didn't buy it :(
I'd undo the jailbreak too just to play it safe, or at least disable the UI mods you have.
Yeah, I'm definitely undoing it. I'll just make a case about how it always got hot and how the screen was never exactly 100% perfect (which are both true and both factors on how it keeps getting worse)
Turn in the help desk representative if your scheme doesn't work. There's a chance apple will be grateful of your tattling and fix your shit for free, while ruining someones life as they are promptly fired.
lol, a friend of mine has one with a bullethole in it xD
haha but ur excuse sucks lol
haha but ur excuse sucks lol
haha lol ur so hardcore man!!!!! My excuse is fine. If it doesn't work either way, I have the money to pay for a fix.
tell us the end result man!
Yeah it's kind of pointless how they make you pay so much for a repair. Someone that is going to invest that much in a repair might as well go the whole ten yards and buy a new iPod Touch. In your case, I'd try going to the Apple store with a bullshit excuse. I've had my iPhone replaced tons of times. Most of the times were legit reasons. I've had problems with the touchscreen, vibrate/ring switch, the power switch, and I've had dead pixels (which they do replace if it's a really bad case of it).
Freaking epic.
all this reminds me of the microsoft scams
