• Not able to burn faster then .7X

I finally got my friends 75gb of shit into .isos to burn, but when I boot up imgburn and set it to burn, it refuses to go faster then .7X, and takes about 2.5 hours per disk. If I only had a few to do, it wouldn't be an issue, but I have to burn 10. I already burned 4, and the 5th is currently at 25%. Is there any reason why it would stick at .7X? I'm using my own external dvd burner, so I know the drive is capable. The computer is a Dell Dimension 8100 with a Seagate U6 80gb secondary drive. Is it simply that the computer itself is limiting it, or is it something that I can actually fix?
It's the connection between the External and your computer. What're you connected by? SATA? USB? Firewire?
USB, but I've burned on my laptop with it just fine.
