• Overheated hardware, or just hot inside?

Today i was making a gmod machinima, and all of a sudden, both the CPU and the GPU fan revs up and start to sound abnormally loud and annoying. I go in MSI's overclocking software for my GPU (HD 5770) and see that the temperature is at 73C and the fan is going at 74% or so. I forgot to check The CPU though. Is this really normal for playing gmod on almost full settings (no AA) on cs_office? I did notice that it was a bit warm in the house, but its no big difference.
Clean it from the dust, mine was running at 80C before i cleaned it.
Good idea. It was about six months since last time. I'll look into it tomorrow.
You mention OC software. Have you overclocked at all?
Nope.
Get a can of air, they can be found at many stores. They've even got them at the cvs 5 minutes away:v: Personally though, I prefer a compressor. It's 10 times as powerful; I cleaned out my friend's computer with my compressor when he'd cleaned it out with a can of air the previous week, and clouds of dust still erupted from the cpu heatsink. [editline]09:54PM[/editline] Beware though, various compressors don't have an air/oil trap, so if it's new, i'd watch out for oil. moisture will build up in mine in like 5 minutes.
I'd rather take my computer aoart and use the vaccuum on low power and then proceeding with cleaning the processor, the graphics card and the ram by hand. Thanks for the help though. I love this helpful forum.
70°C isn't that high for a GPU. Try running Furmark on it and post how high the temperatures get.
