• How should I silence my PC?

I recently posted a similar thread on reddit's BuildaPC, but I want your opinions as well. I built a PC last year, and now that I have saved up some money I want to try to make my PC as silent as possible. These are my current specs: Case: Cooler Master CM690 II Advanced, running the stock 140mm fans in the front and top, and the stock 120mm in the back CPU: Intel i5 2500k @3,3 GHz, with the stock cooling unit. RAM: 8 GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz Storage: Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD, and a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB. Graphics: Asus GTX 560 Ti top DirectCU II PSU: OCZ Modxstream 700W First of all, I have to replace the CPU cooler. I am looking at the Corsair H100 Hydro, and the Cooler Master Hyper 212+. Do any of you guys have any experience with any of these? Or do you recommend other coolers around $100? I'm more concerned about noise than performance at the moment, as I'm not overclocked. Would be nice to have the option though. Second: What else should I do to get it running more quietly?
212+ Gentle typhoons are pretty good, but if you need advice in silent fans brt5470 is the user you're looking for.
Don't bother with the H100, it's loud and expensive for what it is. I'd get the Hyper 212+ for standard use or the NH-D14 for overclocking. Depending on your needs and budget buying a new case with sound deadening foam will also help in greatly minimising the sound your computer makes. The Fractal Design Define R3 is the most common and popular choice for this.
Yup, I actually ordered a Define R3, an extra case fan and a Noctua NH-U12P yesterday, so I hope that will work :)
