Cool, now bring it to Linux so I can play again.
I really love everything they have done with this game. The official ranked matches has re-solidified my love for CS that kinda dwindled with css. Not saying css was a worse game, I like just as much but GO to me was the next logical step. The official game modes are totally perfect for casually fuckin' around, in DM, or the stripped away demolition mode etc. Mainly I'm glad about the official ranking though so I can properly track my improvement.
I have been playing this game quite a bit over the last 2 months. This was the first Counter Strike that I have played for any considerable amount of time.

Yes, I agree I prefer GO. But I cannot think of anything that is objectively worse about source when compared to 1.6.
The only thing CS:S does better than CS:GO is the surfing. The surfing in CS:GO is sluggish and bleugh compared to CS:S.
I don't know. Personally, I prefer CS:S to GO, or at least I did with the old servers (many of them have changed now. There aren't really any glass or break maps, and surfing is dying out). I felt everything CS:GO did felt too serious and competitive for a game I loved to play for the "fun" aspect that came from the custom content. I mean, what kills it for me (completely ignoring the lack of func_vehicle, and sv_airaccelerate for the longest time, if not still) is that even the surfing maps on CS:GO are too serious. Every server I tried had that setup where you constantly re-spawn and try to beat your previous time. What happened to the maps with jails? It's blatantly obvious the core focus is now on the "competitive" scene in CS:GO as anybody can see with the gigantic "Play now" button stricty for tournaments while the server browser is a bit more hidden. Those were my initial complaints. Now there's te micro transaction store and I'm sorry, but I honesty cannot stand that in a game I'd already paid retail price for. It makes my experience feel cheaper, and it never allows me to feel like I can enjoy the *complete* experience. CS:S was great because you had everything. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to make the silenced weapons separate items? Anyways, fortunately, I can still play CS:S for the experience I want while others can play CS:GO for the new experience if they choose to do so. It's a good game in its' own way, but its simply not the kind I wanted. I'm not a big fan of Valve's recent changes in game design.
